For unattended jack o’ lanterns I always use battery operated “pumpkin” lights. But, if you’re like me and love the smell of charring pumpkin, these are perfect for a jack o’ lantern with a live flame. There is no strong odor from the fuel and they are easy to light and keep lit. They last much longer than tea lights and are more powerful as well.One thing I’m not too clear on is the ease of adjusting the height of the wick. It seems that would be a bit tricky but the preset height works well overall. I’ll order more for my Hallowe’en jacks in the future.

We use these as inserts for ritual lamps at our church and chapel. They work fine, are easy to use and reliable and have almost no odor. Great product.

These candles were lit! They worked very well and stayed lit the entire time. After party ended they still had a good amount of wax left in them to reuse! We had theM lit up for about 6-7hours!! 100% recommend!

Great little paraffin wax candles. I'll say what others have already said - the wick is way too short. Take some needle nose pliers and pull it out just a little bit longer to get the same flame size as a regular tea light. Doing this however decreases the 36 hour time and can even cut that time in half, so just be warned.Only con is that they are non-refillable, even though the wick is wicked long (pun intended?) Hate wasting that and throwing the plastic in the trash, but hey mother earth wins some and loses some.

These are a great buy compared to candles. No more wax drips, or wax residue on tables or candle holders. I searched for a Hollowick candle holder online that would be large enough to hold this size (HD36) and they were all $18 or more for one and I needed several. I needed something plain but elegant so I paired it with "Anchor Hocking 4-Inch Flared Square Votive Candle Holder, Pack of 6" (also sold on Amazon). Result was beautiful. Could either put colored glass beads or flowers surrounding the cell in the glass candle holder or just plain. Classic look, ambient dinner lighting for indoors or out.

I intended to use these in luminaries outside, the fuel froze.

Long lasting… very good in place of candles

I started using these refills instead of live candles and it’s so much easier and cleaner. Yes a live candle provides a glow these votives don’t but the practicality of these trumps having to deal with the candle wax mess.
