I once bought a kilo jar of flakes from some craft outlet. The flakes are neat because you can see that the chip still have the imprints of the palm leaves. (Check wikipedia if you are unclear where this stuff comes from -- way cool.) Anyway, the 1 lb bags are the same quality Carnauba wax but more finely powdered. Probably that is good for some things. I am using this stuff two ways. Use 1) I use an electric iron to saturate very thin cloth and make collages. It is a neat effect. Most recently I have used the same process to cover very thin plywood to make pieces for a mobile. See pictures.Use 2: Melt in a double boiler 1 part Carnauba wax to 2 parts walnut oil. The result is a hard paste wax that is terrific for finishing wood. Don't use much, just rub it on, wait an hour, and then buff with a clean cloth. The stuff doesn't contain any drying agents like commercial paste waxes so it doesn't dry nearly as quickly. But it works great. It is a little stiff for lubricating screws for power driving but it will do the job. Furthermore, I have used it has lip balm -- perfectly safe -- but to be honest bees wax melted with olive oil works better.

I purchased this to make my own soapstone counter wax. We're saving tons making our own counter wax. This bag of palm wax will be enough for a lifetime and it costs less than the tiny container of wax. I use a blend of safflower, walnut and this. I like to add a few drops of scent (I use essential oils and absolutes for a natural scent), and my counters smell amazing and look amazing too!

Better than expected. Very uniform and clean wax. Ive had other waxes that had foreign objects in them, once melted, the objects like dirt fell out. This was clean with no signs of the smallest amount of dirt or particles. Anyone who's worked with waxes, the cleaner the better. It is a pain to filter.

it is a very hard wax. i am sure for the use of what it is purposed for it works. i was ignorant to how to use it. much too hard for what i needed. i thought it would be able to be pressed into the metal surface. this stuff although in flakes, is very very hard. was directed to use pure canuba for my bronze statue….not what i needed….thanks

I thought I was getting a package that would be filled at least to the top but that wasn't the case. I wish there was more product

I used just a dash of this wax to my premeasured candelilla wax to harden my lip balms so they'll stay firm if you live in warmer climates. Thanks!
