We have had tons of rain and flooding. My other Sketcher trail shoes are comfy, but not enough grip for muddy technical trails. These shoes did not slip once! I had to jump over a mud pit that was left by bike tracks in order to get across a creek , and then had to run up a hill on the other side while trying no to fall. The grippers on these things dug right into the mud and I was standing on a pretty steep incline (and I am not thin) and they held me! I was shocked! My husband has been running for years, tried all the different brands and was amazed. The Ginger Runner did a review on these, I would suggest going to Youtube and looking him up as he gives very honest reviews and is an ultra runner. If the Ginger likes them, you know they have to be great! The knit collar keeps mud out, so not hot gaiters! I do not recommend wearing thick socks with these as it made my foot slide in them a bit and the shoe is already made to fit like a sock for stability on technical trails. Did I mention drain holes for crossing those creeks? YEP! Drain Holes! We ran through tons of mud last night and NONE stuck to shoes. My husband's shoes are covered! I would highly recommend buying these if you are running trails. They have the mid strike technology to help you land mid sole instead of heel strike, drain holes, very cushy, and great grippers for muddy technical trails. You will love this shoe!

Weird fit. Sock thing around ankle squeezes your foot and they are longer than normal for this size running shoe. I don't care for them.
