Leatherman FREE T4

As always with Leatherman the excitement opening a new too is palpable. The Free lives up to the hype. It is fantastic. Robust and very easy on the eye. One hand operation takes a bit of practice but looking forward to it.

What’s not to like about this? I use it about 30 times a day, every day. I’ve had this for a couple years now and it goes with me everywhere, often forgetting to take it off. The lock function is perfect for one handed Operations and the tools are ample. Great materials used and that Leatherman satisfaction. Holds a decent edge, so good that I’ve used it to cut through MDPE pipe numerous times at work. The size is perfect as it fits in the palm of your hand as mentioned, so utilising it single-handed if you have a tricky Ganesh-like-job on the go. My only gripe is, if they included a very handy set of tweezers in the handle, then the toothpick would’ve been a nice touch. Can’t recommend it enough for any man that doesn’t own a TV and has an ever lasting Job’s List. Don’t think about it, just buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

Great knife if you don't use the metal file. As this knife uses magnetic closure, yes, you guessed it, all the joints get gummed up with metal filings.

I really like Leatherman multi tools and thought I’d treat myself to the T4. What a total disappointment this tool was. At the time I purchased this (Feb 2022) it was just under £80.00, and to be honest, that’s £60.00 too much in my opinion. I have returned it for a refund as it’s just not worth the price. I hope that my little bit of advice prevents you from making the same mistake as I did in buying one of these.

Great quality great set of tools

Das LEATHERMAN - FREE T4 wird in einem recht opulenten Karton geliefert vom Volumen. Ich dacht erst, das dieses Multitool viel größer ist aufgrund der Verpackung. Aber es ist doch letztlich so kompakt, wie von mir erhofft. In dem Karton befindet sich natürlich das Multitool, und eine Karte die auf englisch erklärt, wie man dieses Tool einsetzen kann. Es ist übrigens in den USA Hergestellt! Die Verarbeitung des Multitool ist sehr gut. Es sind all wichtigen dinge enthalten. Die Schere funktioniert bei meinen FREE T4 perfekt. Es ist sogar eine kleine Pinzette mit dabei! Find ich klasse! Das Messer ist übrigens sehr scharf geschliffen. Allgemein liegt das Multitool sehr gut in der Hand, und ist auch nicht zu groß in der Hosentasche. Teile des FREE T4 sind übrigens aus Kunststoff. Da ist sicher jeder unterschiedlich im Denken. "Kunststoff bei einem Messer / Multitool geht gar nicht" mögen mache sich denken. Aber der Kunststoff macht einen wirklich guten Eindruck. Auch hat ein guter Kunststoff mit billig in der Herstellung nicht unbedingt was zu tun. Er kann sehr strapazierfähig sein, und dabei auch Gewicht einsparen, was bei einem EDC Messer sehr wichtig ist. Übrigens die Tools lassen sich wenn man mag einhändig bedienen, einzig die Messerklinge benötigt beide Hände (zumindest ich schaffe es nicht mit einer Hand!). Gerade das ist aber wichtig, aus meiner Sicht ist das Messer nicht einhändig zu bedienen, und sollte kein Problem darstellen beim führen in Deutschland. Gut gefällt mir auch, das die Messer Klinge als auch die verschiedenen Tools verriegelt werden können. Damit kann das Werkzeug sehr sicher benutzt werden, ohne das da das gewählte Werkzeug oder auch das Messer einklappt. Fazit: Mir gefällt das FREE T4 sehr gut. Bei meinem passt die Verarbeitung. Daher gebe ich 5 Sterne!

Ya nunca salgo de casa sin la T4; tiene el tamaño, peso y funciones perfectas. Me ha costado muchos intentos llegar hasta esta herramienta. Tiene un diseño que quizás eche para atrás, pero que tiene todo muy bien pensado. Y la uso para todo lo que sea una necesidad casual. Va a ser mi fiel compañera por muchos años. Y eso que tengo unas cuantas Leatherman más.
