Diabetes Food Journal: A Daily Log for Tracking Blood Sugar, Nutrition, and Activity

Missing one important measure for recording.
I have been journaling my diabetes for years. I had been using a regular planner, but was looking for something more relevant. First I used Food Journal and Blood Sugar by Dartan Creations Ltd. but when I finished the 56 days and it was time for a new one, it was no longer available. So I got this one. Both journals were good for keeping track of my food and my blood sugar readings; however, this one has no place to record how much insulin I take with each meal. What journaling is most useful for is to know how much insulin I need to take for the different types of meals. I have been able to manage to squeeze in my insulin amounts, but for my next book I will look for one that has a space for insulin units taken.

Just smart
Love this little thing!! The information in the beginning is so educational and useful. Very well thought out and explains terminology in easy-to-understand terms. A book like this is so helpful for people who aren’t comfortable using digital devices, the elderly who aren’t savvy with technology, or just anyone who prefers good ol pen and paper. The log pages are BEAUTIFULLY designed and offer tracking space for all the important data, as well as space for “softer” stats like feelings. It’s has a fun and modern aesthetic, sized to be portable, and affordable (as it’s able to be purchased again to keep logging).

Very good for Type 2 Diabetics.
I am a newly diagnosed diabetic and I was overwhelmed with all of the things that I have to be mindful of, like my diet and exercise, my fingerstick readings. This has helped me stay focused and I think that my doctor will appreciate that I have it to keep myself from getting worse with my diabetes. I hope to be able to get off of my meds eventually.

Basically Perfect!
This journal is just about perfect .. I’m newly diagnosed and have been struggling to learn what works and what doesn’t. This journal has a space for everything you could possibly need—except for a spot to track how much and when you use Insulin. I have two different pens to keep track of my use so I’ve started just noting it in an open spot. Since there is enough space, I don’t think it’s a big deal and think this is a great product and well worth the price!

Priceless tool!!!
This food journal is the very best. Space for calories, fat, carbs, total sugar, added sugars, protein and fiber. Great for diabetics...but also for anyone keeping tabs on their food intake.

Not enough room to log foods
Only has three tiny lines per meal to enter food..totally unrealistic. Must write very tiny to log foods and must comine due to no space. I logged 2 days but had to write it all down in note book, add things up and transfer. Litterly threw the book in the trash. I do no recommend.

Book looks useful. Packing was disappointing.
I bought this for my father to help him track his diabetes. Although the book looks like it would be useful. I am very disappointed that something was spilled on the book at the bottom. Ruining cover bottom and some pages. Then someone packed it wet. Doesn't look new.

Disappointed!
Only 3 little lines for each meal entry!Because of this I can't enter the nutritional info of each item. For example, I put a few otems in my smoothies. More than 3 and in my salads. But I have to just jot it all dpwn, squeezing it in and forget the nutrient tracking. It's nice to have a place to document glucose numbers though.

Nowhere for recording insulin
I purchased this because of the space to record food intake, but unfortunately, there is nowhere to record pre-meal bolus or basal insulin units, which is a big shame. This is perfect for a diet controlled diabetic, not so good for a type 1, unless you commandeer the calorie column for your insulin record!
