Ahoy Matey Pirate Costume Toddler

Adorable little pirate outfit. I got this for my 19 month old and it was so cute. I purposely ordered it a little big (3-4) and I'm glad I did. He weighs about 25 lbs and isn't particularly tall nor short. It fit him similar to how the boy in the listing is wearing it- the pants were nearly to his ankles and the top was big but not huge. The waist was large and the pants fell down anytime I didn't have the belt tied around his waist to hold them up. I basically just folded the pants once at the top, and then tied the belt around to cover and hold them from falling down. Worked beautifully. Since he was wearing this for Pirate Fest in June, I'm glad this was not a tight outfit on a hot day! The pirate skull accents on the hat and belt are foamy- my son liked playing with them and I thought for sure they would fall off but they held up well. The pants were adorable- I can use these again for a few Halloweens or costume parties if needed, but the top was a bit 1970's shiny polyester looking for my taste. It was cute but not my favorite part of the costume by any means. It was nice that it is the kind of silky shiny fabric that will never need to be ironed and it's thin enough that he could wear it during a warm day without getting overheated. The hat was cute- since it's just a bandana, you can tie it to fit any size. The belt is the same- just an unfitted piece of fabric that you can fit to any size waist. I added a foam sword, some sandals and a pirate flag for the day and he was all set! We got some great compliments and even had a few pirates ask to take photos with him. Definitely a good buy :)

When planning my son's 3rd pirate party, I got this Pirate Costume - total hit! Great quality, holds up well. As soon as my son put it on, he was so excited! He started swaggering around, talking pirate. So cute.

Very cute, just as pictured. Does not come with the sword though. It definitely is a cheap costume and feels cheap and lightweight but gets the job done! I would say it seems to run on the smaller side. Pants are not as baggy but my son is 4, average size so maybe it would be for younger, smaller kids.

For as thin as the fabric is, it lasted us for a long time. We got one almost 3 years ago and my son has worn it a lot. He wore it at home, to the beach, the playground, to preschool etc. We washed it by hand several times. Only now it is starting to tear in some places. My younger son got to wear it to a Halloween party, too. So I think we got 3 Halloween seasons out of it and the regular wearing of it outside of the season just for fun.My older son has an average height and size and somehow has managed to still wear it at 4.5 years. It is a bit short at this point but he's still pleased with it. We got the size 3-4 for him when he was 2. Even our 1.5 year old son was able to wear it, although it was a bit long on him still. It was like a long pair of pants and a sweater, rather than like capri pants.I would agree that if it is cooler it would be very good to put warmer clothes underneath, though. We have put several layers under it before (tights, jeans, t-shirt, warm sweater) or just tights and a long sleeved t-shirt, depending on the weather and the occasion. My sons have also worn it just with underwear during spring and summer and that was ok, too. They are not that sheer.Addition:I had originally given this product 5 stars but I felt like I had to take away one at least if not two. I think the product is a lot of fun for children to dress up with, and it is very good for role play and thus good for imagination and creativity. However, I'd say that the overall quality of the product is not as good as the product I purchased 3 years ago. I went ahead and kept it anyways but I had to use some nail polish to fix some of the runs that started emerging after having worn it only one time. So have some clear nail polish on your hand if you get this and it happens to be like the one we just got.

My daughter always dresses up for Disneyland, and I felt that it would be unfair for the little one to go in regular clothes. The problem is that the boy costumes that Disney has are too hot for summer (think Spiderman and Ironman, or god forbid Chewbacca). I turned to Amazon and was not disappointed.My 3-year-old son is tall and slender (96th percentile height). The length of the pirate costume was great, but the waist was much too big. No matter as I just grabbed a rubber band and tied off a bit and voila! the costume will probably fit for the next 3 years. Super duper cute. Good buy!

Wife here. I was a little worried about ordering this costume based on the prior reviews but I wanted to let you know that this item arrived as completely brand new, nothing was unraveling and it fit as expected. My son is 4.5 years old, is in the 50% for height (so he's not super tall) and weighs 42 pounds (he's heavier than his peers). I ordered the 4-6. The hem of the shirt hits exactly at his waist which is short by t-shirt standards but I view this as "this is how it's supposed to be" because the hem of the pants are supposed to be short. The outfit has enough give in it that it should allow for another year of growing. (He does have a shirt on underneath and I would recommend layering based on how thin the material is but it allows the kid to layer for colder weather.) The skull and crossbones are a foam material. My son loved this outfit!

I bought this for my 3 year old. Super cute and good value, while the pants fit perfectly the shirt was too small/short. I returned and ordered the next size up (which was $6 more - not as great a value). As I would expect the pants were huge because he's only 3 and these were the size 4-6 and the shirt was still on the shorter side to stay tucked in the belt. It was fine if he was just standing but as soon as he started moving it wouldn't stay tucked into the belt. I sewed the pants and all worked out but sizing of shirt seems to be off. The collar on the shirt also flips up so I sewed that down too. Overall really cute, just with the shirt was longer. Would have given 3 1/2 stars if it would have let me.

Got this for my little man for “pirate day” at preschool. He was super cute, loved it, and was the hit of his class. Highly recommend!

So disappointed!My product arrived with bandana and waist tie and the 2 skull accents MISSING. I hope the seller replaces these items as I only record 2 items in the package which is the shirt and pants. Now my daughter has no pirate costume to wear for her own pirate birthday party. :(
