Easy to install with lots of pre-drilled holes to provide mounting options, I used bolts this time and I expect I will not have to re-mount my mailbox again, ever. Nice and sturdy, located right where it should be.

We didn’t have a mailbox for our cabin in the mountains and after finally getting permission to put one up my husband chose this mounting bracket. This mounting bracket is very strong but also very easy to put up. We needed something that was easy to install but also is very strong. This bracket does not disappoint

I had a large locking box to install so set on a 4 x 4 and added diagonal braces cut from a 4 x 4. Box is a rock!

I know the bracket is made for 4x4 posts but the sides of the bracket for a 4x4 post are separate pieces, using just the main part of the bracket I mounted it to angle iron using the included hardware, then attached the mailbox with the included hardware from the bottom lip of the box. I had to drill my angle iron because it was made for two boxes and I remounted for just one box, and I used blue thread locker on those two bolts. I will later cut off the excess angle iron off my pole and paint it all. The base had all I really needed to mount the box. It’s only connected to the pole at those two points of contact, the box is connected to the base at 4 points of contact. it’s not rock solid but it’s more than secure enough to hold up the weight it needs to hold. All in all it was a success. The bracket is stiff enough I’m confident it won’t bend, not being supported for most of the bracket.

Ordered an Architectural Mailboxes mailbox from Wayfair. We thought it was going to come with the plate adapter. I guess we didn't read the description well enough. This came in very quickly. It is pretty easy to install, however if using it with the larger mailboxes from this company on a horizontal post, and not on the post end, when you are screwing the adapter plate sides into the wooden post, the top screw has to be screwed in 95% of the way before you put the mailbox on (if using a drill--unless you have a very long #2 phillips bit) as there is no clearance to get in the small hole to tighten it. If you get it almost all the way in you should be able to finish it off with a screwdriver if you pre-drilled a hole for that screw. The side plates can't be screwed all the way into the post, or the bolts in the plate itself won't line up with the holes in the side plates.

The adapter plate is flexible in that you can mount multiple ways which makes it easy. It was easy to use and made putting it on the post easy. It takes a little time to measure to make sure it works but with there are multiple ways to post a mailbox and it seems very sturdy when on.
