Advanced Sports Nutrition Review: Science is made accessible and practical, and amazingly well referenced - Very well organized, highly practical, and incredible overview of the scientific literature on each subject. There is an important and well-presented focus on how to avoid relative energy deficiency through creating a dynamic relationship between energy expended and consumed, resulting in an ideal eating pattern that varies widely between individual athletes, depending on when exercise takes place, its intensity, and its duration. Review: Incredible book on sports nutrition - Im a registered dietitian, sports medicine acupuncturist and avid Ironman triathlete myself. I’ve purchased the previous edition before and found it very helpful for myself and my patients. I was excited to purchase this updated edition and I’m sure I’ll reference it just as frequently.

I'm currently studying nutrition and I'm very interested in Sport Nutrition. This book, in my opinion, is very good and I'm a beginner! Very easy to understand, at least it's my opinion! I recommend this book!

Il testo è spettacolare. Vengono elencati tutti i principi della nutrizione avanzata sportiva. Esempi pratici per più di 30 sport. Consiglio assolutamente!

I bought this book because it was mentioned by an author in her autobiography, Tears of a dance mum, but it's not my cup of tea even if I am used to reading many medical publications.

Don't expect any cutting edge advanced info. This book could be 40 pages long without losing info. Basically, it repeats over and over again that everyone who practices sports must eat at least 6 times per day. Have a lot of carbohydrates, 1,2/kg to 2g/kg protein. Some fats. That's the only eating model you'll find from this book. Everything else is labeled as dangerous or potentially dangerous without any sort of reasoning or facts (There are some "facts" that don't necessarily make any sense). The name of this book and the fact that they made the 3rd edition without adding anything relevant from the 21st century deserves 1 or 2 stars. Other than that it's a book with some good basic information. If you think it's weird to label butter and margarine both together as trans fats this book probably isn't for you. Same if you don't support the idea of choosing the low-fat product over the natural one. Or if you think that cornflakes probably aren't the healthiest breakfast.
