It exists, but it's all cons.
TIP: you have to pull a little rubber "plug" on the battery door, then CLOSE the battery door with the battery insert pin sticking out. just tug the little flap out of the way.the cons:quality. it's as bad as you'd expect. on my copy, the contacts for the battery insert (that goes inside the camera) on the base were poorly installed when it was assembled, so the insert couldn't actually touch them. so useless as a battery grip. (returned.)fit. fit is far from good. more like poor. big gaps everwhere around where the base meets the body.comfort. the curvy bit on the "normal" part of the grip just interferes with your fingers.function. with a moderate lens attached (1.5lb super tele), if you try to use the portrait grip, the whole camera body will twist away (forward) - the only thing that -might- try to keep that happening is the little pins from the battery insert where they stick into the base. but the whole unit will flex far enough I suspect at best you'll disconnect the battery, and at worst smack your lens into something unexpected. There is NO "lip" or anything around the front to keep the camera from rotating on the base. some people added grip tape in the grip+body sandwich.comfort. I'd hoped that the grip would add height to the body to make the right hand grippage more comfortable. the design of the back of the grip, though, just sucked on the hand. front too, as mentioned above.the only positive:it exists. there's not much out there for the a6000.I started this as a 2 star...until I actually though it through.

This grip is awkward looking but it accomplishes what I need it to
This grip is awkward looking but it accomplishes what I need it to: Making my Sony A6000 large enough to fit my hands so I can get a good grip on it. Visually, it looks like a brick attached to your camera, and appears as if they made it to fit multiple bodies, so it does not fit the A6000 like a glove and has a tiny bit of "wobble" when connected. I like that it holds two batteries, but it does not always charge as expected via USB with the batteries in the grip. The cable you need to connect is a wonky setup, but I don't need the vertical shutter release anyway, so it's not a deal breaker.

Good accessory for the price! Works with the Sony A6300.
Bought this Neewer battery grip (BG-3DIR/ SG-3DIR) for the Sony A6300. Despite the conflicting reviews regarding this grips compatibility with the Sony A6300 I went ahead and decided to find out for myself. To make it clear, this battery grip DOES fit the Sony A6300, however you cannot use the vertical shutter button or IR remote. The micro usb cable/jack is inverted on the A6300 so the supplied cable does not work. I bought this grip to keep my A6300 body cooler and extended battery life for filming, so the vertical shutter button and ir remote was not something I was interested in anyways. Installation was easy and everything seemed to click right into place. I've been using the grip for a couple of hours now and I haven't had any errors or incompatibility issues thus far.

Not Perfect but Usable.
Purchased this for my A6000 and it worked ok except for the following little nuances:1. Every now and then you get battery compatibility issue2. Battery compartment door needed a little padding to securely keep the double battery tray in place.3. The locking screw even when tight still wobbles a bit and not a perfect fit to the camera.4. The lower part of the articulating (why Sony!) screen can be blocked by the back lip of the battery pack. Some people shave the problem area.5. The little side cable attachment is a bit annoying if you need to use the vertical trigger button, otherwise you do not needed it.

Great so far.
I just received it in the mail. Earlier than expected which is always great as a person or orders a lot of packages. You will definitely have to read the instructions on how to assemble it. But I can say I only had to read it once and now I can continually take it a par and put it together.I may need to write another review on performance later but as of now it's awesome.Update: the vertical button stopped working after 30 mins of shooting

The camera intermittantly giives a "Not correct Battery" when using the product even when sony batteries are installed in the unit. I then have to take out the insert that gors into the camera battery compartment and reinstall it to "reset" the camera to accept the batteries installed in the vertical hand grip. This more often than not occurs at the most inopportune time causing one to miss "the shot" Frustrating.

You cannot take out the screen with this on.
The batteries are not supportive for this device. I have 2 sony brand batteries but this device does not give accurate readings and at times bounce from numbers at ranges of 10-35 percent. This device is very unstable and could cause your camera to shutoff because of bad info being sent into the camera. Also if they did not sell you on how bad it is then this will. The LCD cannot be flipped out while this is fully attached. You must unscrew this from you camera flip out the screen and then screw it back in each time you want to put the screen away or take it out!

Good grip, but have a file handy.
This grip works well. However, I had to file a small piece of the grip down to allow the lcd screen its full range of motion. With my large hands, the grip makes the a6000 much more manageable. I would buy again.

YES; This works on Sony A6300!
Incase anyone was wondering; YES, this does work on the Sony A6300! However, the shutter release won't work as it seems the USB cable is the wrong orientation, making the lead too short. This doesn't bother me as I didn't buy this battery grip for portrait shots or for the remote shutter, simply just to make the A6300 sit nicer with a big lens for long periods of time. Its average build quality, it doesn't feel as nice quality as the A6300 body, but its good enough. Removing batteries isn't that bad, removing SD card means removing entire grip which is a bit of a pain, but nothing can avoid this. I guess USB direct to camera would be a better option. Giving it 4 stars due to feel/quality, but then again, for under £40 I didn't expect it to be amazing.

Needs AEL button to allow back button focusing.
One major flaw for me is that it doesn't provide a button to use for back button focusing. I use my AEL button to control Autofocus. With the battery grip attached and the camera held in a vertical position, it's practically impossible to reach the AEL button on the camera body, meaning I have to use the shutter button to start Autofocus, which is definitely a step backwards. In every other respect, it's a decent battery grip.

No more worries about changing battery.
The single battery on the Sony A6000 does not last long. But with this Neewer Battery Grip I do not have to worry about having to change batteries half way through a shoot. Great piece of kit.
