Outstanding documentation of the Camera and it's overall capabilities
David Busch's Guide provides an excellent format for learning about the D7200 and all the capabilities the camera has to offer. Bought his guide to the D7000 after I bought that camera too. Would recommend his guides to anyone who really wants to learn how to utilize all the available functions of their camera.

The best book I could have purchased, prior to buying the Nikon D7200. Saved me MONEY!!!!!!!
I found this book to be the best purchase ever!!!! I determined what camera I was going to purchase first, then bought the book. I am a beginner when it comes to photography. I purchased a SLR digital camera several years ago and hated it. The quality of the pictures were terrible even using the automatic settings. I am hosting a German exchange student and decided I needed a new camera. I received the book and read most of the book and played very close attention to the section on recommended accessories that should be considered for purchase. The most important section to me was on lenses. I was able to determine the best starting lens for me was the AF-S DX ZOOM-NIKKOR F/3.5-5.6 G VR II. The book save me a lot of frustration, disappointment, and money by helping me make my decision on a lens before buying the camera. I was able to find a camera package that included this lens on Amazon from Cameta Camera. The book is easy to read and understand for a beginner like me. I have also purchased the following books; David Busch's Compact Field Guide for the Nikon D7200 and David Busch's Mastering Digital SLR Photography, Fourth Edition.

Not only the best camera guide I've ever read, possible the best product guide I've ever read.
I don't actually enjoy writing reviews, which is why, out of the all-too-many items I buy on Amazon, I only come back to provide reviews when something is really bad, or really good. In the case of David Busch's D7200 book, it's the latter. Not only is this the best camera guide I have ever owned (and I started taking pictures in 1965), it is quite possibly one of the best product guide books I have ever owned. Logically arranged, clearly written, with just enough repetition (and no more) to keep you from flipping back and forth, this is a book I will be coming back to multiple times as I learn more about my D7200. One of my favorite features, beyond the simple clarity of his explanations of the many settings, is Busch's providing of recommendations for those settings, along with succinct rationales for his suggestions and advice on alternate choices. I also appreciate the careful editing: over the course of about 500 pages, I think I noted maybe 3 typos. Total. And if that doesn't impress you, you've never written an essay. ;-)

Sure Beats The Manual!
The book was very informative and well laid-out. I've had my camera for a couple of years now and sometimes I forget all of the cool stuff it can do! This book is a great refresher for someone like me, who has had their camera for a while, as well as for the new owner who is scratching their head after perusing the manual. I love having it i Kindle form also as I can use it in the field, if I need. I also like the fact that he explains "why" each setting is what it is, and his personal preferences, and why! Well worth the money!!

All you need to know about the D7200
This is not my first book by David Busch, and as usual he comes through with explanations, and great photos that are easy on the eyes, and mind. Also gives advice on what settings he uses and why. A complete book for anyone who owns a D7200; no matter what your skill level is. A heavy book with over 500 pages, and it holds your interest. Excellent, A 5* rating in anybody's "book" ! I highly recommend this book, and any others by David Busch, a talented and easy to read author.

EXPENSIVE. NOT USEFUL DON'T WASTE YOUR $
I know that D.B.'s books are bestsellers and that Mr. Busch has a good reputation. But my opinion is that he is more a marketer than a good photographic guide writer. His books are in a way to scam, because he repeats the same pictures, instead of putting the pictures that correspond to the camera that the book is about (I know because I bought two different books Of D3300 and the book of D7200). In addition, his explanations are confusing (such as the "crop factor" or the "guide number", for example), redundant, and incomplete. For example the explanation about lenses is unuseful for the new photographer and more unuseful for the other who knows something (I mean, there is not a criteria to select the proper lenses for a given photographic activity. Mr. Busch only summarize the specifications that everybody can find in the corresponding official web pages). There is more ego to tell what he does than to help the novice. And lastly, it is full of mistakes (as for example when he says that the D7200 does up to 10 multiple expositions, intead of 3). In short, they are VERY expensive Books for what little they teach. Good book
Good book. I have not read it cover to cover yet but I have found it helpful. Even though it is well written, for me, Nikon 7200 for Dummies was easier to follow. They are both worth tie price. In the evening you will find me in my recliner with my laptop in my lap along with my camera one of these two books. I take a lot of pictures of the TV while trying whats in the books. It is fun to take as many photos as you want trying different settings knowing that you can delete them and reuse the SD card over and over.

The details are not exactly what I'd expect for something ...
The details are not exactly what I'd expect for something I pay for. Most of this information is in the manual. Sure he puts his experience but overall I did not find it worth it. Most information can be obtained from Nikon. So for example his example of Af-A and how that works didn't really tell me anything to help. I mostly shoot in AF-S. And using this other mode isn't really clear what the camera is doing. I'm a pro. I don't need remedial info. I need detailed advanced info which this book really doesn't offer.

The Most Important Book for your D7200
I've had this book since January and I've not even near to finishing reading it all. On pretty much every single page there is information in detail about the Nikon D7200 that surpasses any camera book or manual I've ever read. One can read the handbook and the Pdf file for the D7200...but they're not even in the same universe for information 'EXPLAINED' information I must add. One of the reasons I've not finished the book is because I keep discovering within it's covers things about the D7200 that can leave one amazed and are not so much as mentioned in any manual.David Busch covers even the minutest detail with brilliant clarity and it will prompt many to briefly put the book down and go play with the camera and check out many of it's hitherto unmentioned features.A must have for any D7200 owner

Really get to know and use your camera
This is the second book I purchased by David Busch, the other being the d90. So impressed with the first book I actually bought this one before I purchased the camera! I was confident it would feed me all I needed to know in an unbiased way.The size of the book is comfortable so illustrations are not crammed so not necessarily for your camera bag but I carry mine in the car. I think he has a camera bag version. Pages are good, thick, wording good size and the illustrations are colour and shown as on your camera model. Every thing about the layout of your camera is in detail but easily understood. The functioning of your camera is again very easily understood. For the menus he goes over each one explaining it and telling you his preference and why but leaving it up to you. I found this useful when getting to know the camera then experimenting later. The book will be used for a long time as I experiment with the camera. It will teach at the rate you wish to learn with great results. I was having an issue with auto focus and a few reads here and there in the book solved the problem. My father in law (now 79)who is a lifelong professional photographer and studies digital cameras inside out as they are released, picked up the book in my house and said he didn't know such a book existed and would have to get one for his make of camera. That confirmed my good choice.

Actually readable
David Busch has made a career out of camera guides. What sort of photographer is he, was he? Don't know but he does write remarkably comprehensive guides. I don't agree with everything he says - very dismissive of using exposure delay to stop mirror vibration for example - but I reckon that all but the most hardened long-term professional will learn something about their particular camera or some nugget about photography in general. Also in contrast to the manufacturer's guides, these are readable and there are welcome flashes of humour. Relative to the price of a top of the range digital camera I think these are great value.

Good all round info not covered by the camera manufacturer
Not cheap quite explanatory on using the camera wish there was more info on lenses and particularly on specific lens hoods. Not everyone can afford the ludicrous price for the lenses he uses and amateurs like me would love info on less expensive equipment
