Aquatic Life HM Electronics Edge Freshwater Wireless LED Aquarium Light Fixture with Full Spectrum Color Lighting Unit 24-Inch Strip Wireless Controlled Smart Lights

I got this light to use on a new planted tank project. I am used to running a reef setup with Aqua Illumination lights and the ease of programming my own spectrum and schedule. I wanted a light that gave me those same options but for freshwater and without breaking the bank. While the plants are not in the tank yet I can already tell this is going to be a fantastic light for me.PROS:As I mentioned the programmability is key on this light. You are able to set multiple time points throughout the day and then set the spectrum or temperature you want the lights to be. There are four color channels that you can adjust independently. You are also able to set it to a regional location and follow the settings for there. There are multiple points on a map that you can choose and that will control your times and spectrums.The light is sturdy. The housing on the light appears to be a brushed aluminum and is very solid and attractive. everything seems very well put together and well thought out. The slider bars to adjust to your tank are sturdy and don't sag when stretched out.Connecting to the light is seamless. There is no real learning curve here. The instructions are well laid out and easy to follow. I used an iPhone and it found the light right away and I was off and running.CONS:I couldn't find many and the ones I did find are nit picky.The light sits right on the rim of the tank without an option to raise it up higher. Including the option to purchase of an additional accessory to raise the light higher up off the tank would be great. Not everyone wants the light sitting right at the top rim of the tank.The plug is huge! This can make it hard to orient for a surge protector where other things are plugged in or if you don't have a ton of space between your cabinet and the wall. An in line power bar would be a better option for this purpose.CONCLUSION:This is a fantastic light! Sturdy build quality, attractive appearance and intuitive programming. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again. I considered giving 4 stars with a plan to update as to how the plants react to it but I'm very confident in this light's ability and if there are issues with plant growth I'll adjust my review then.

This light was very easy to set up. Downloaded the app, plugged it in and it was pretty much ready to use right out of the box. The sunset spectrum makes my tank glow. I got the freshwater light, couldn't be happier.
