Quicken For Mac 2015

Having used the windows quicken possibly since it quicken came out I have experienced all sorts of good and bad.The windows version even when buggy, and theres been plenty of that, has always been complete and well thought out. When they got the bugs fixed it was a very professional piece of software. Easy to use and many features.The Mac version is a similar concept but is really more like a phone app rather than a piece of financial software. It more like a fancy checkbook register for all your accounts. No calendar view and reconciling is a nightmare. Although downloading transactions from financial institutions seems to work better than the windows version.Its quite difficult to use. It could be great as the foundation is there, but it really seems half finished especially when compared to the windows version. Actually more like 10% finished compared.It's decent and it works but don't expect it to work like the windows version or have the same capabilities.If you're transferring from windows you need to use the quicken converter to transfer your data into the mac formation.As of now the quicken converter only works with quicken for windows in the 2015 version. You can't converter earlier versions of quicken windows files to mac.You either 1. Need to buy the upgrade for windows if you have an older version or 2. Send your file to quicken via their support to have them convert the file.So you're stuck either upgrading or sending your financial information to a third party. They are trustworthy but its still a third party.As far as support I have found their techs to be extremely helpful, courteous and prompt with resolutions. Follow up within 24 hours usually.In regards to Quicken for Mac, if you're thinking of purchasing please realize its basically a fancy check register. Shouldn't even really have the quicken name as it's kind of misleading if you have used the software before on windows.Will still use it but was quite disappointed.

I've always loved Quicken but never used it on Macs. There are a few features that are not included, but that's the accountant in me speaking. It is a quick an easy product to setup and seamlessly works with your online accounts better than ever. Reporting is adequate but could be improved. Printing custom checks which can be purchased through Amazon.com is a snap. So, generally speaking, for home use it is great!

Good advice, just in the nick of time for someone who needed to download on his new MacBook Air.I needed this quicken on the new computer for access to my old Quicken which was on a flash drive and wouldn't open up without this new downloaded Quicken. I was grateful for the phone connection to get help and guidance for how to use this new Quicken For Mac 2015, and I recommend it to others in my situation.

Quicken finally got the Mac program updated. So far, this program works well.

The original Quicken (2007 Mac) had a clear and understeandable logic to what it was doing and many features that made it easy to interpret and understand. Quicken must have thrown out the common sense and turned it over to programmers that wanted something "slick" that made no sense and follwed no logic. About the only thing I can say "good" about it, is that it is better than nothing (as the old version falls to no working at all with the later Mac OS. As I try to enter new transactions, when I clunkily get all the required data input and "enter" the transaction disappears from the register. When I try to update a transaction date with the Edit function. no matter what I do, the edited change reverts to the original. When I try to enter a credit card statemnt with many separate transactions and categories, I have to re-open the Split mode after each and every transaction. As I add the transactions down the statement list, I don't see anything that tells me that it is not correctly totalling to the same value as the statement total. If the statement has credits, I have to manually go back and change each credit line to a "Plus" value, and then often Quicken adds its own number that has nothoing to do with what I input. If I have multiple statement lines from the same vendor (like Amazon), under the old version, I could let the software sum the individual transactions entered on the same line. On this version, you have no idea how it will apply the + or - , therefore no way to be sure that the numbers are consistent and correct with what you are keying in. In short, this application "SUCKS" and is in need of major customet Beta testing to work out all the bugs,

Very easy to using

I want the simplest thing from Quicken. I'd like to write and print checks and keep a balance on my checking account.I don't care about charts and graphs and notices and spending habits.Can I go back to Quicken 1?My old Quicken worked fine, but the bank stopped supporting it (Thanks Quicken) so I updated to Quicken 15.Now, when I write a check it deducts it from my balance, and when it clears the bank it deducts it again!Quicken says they can't help, banks don't know what to write in check payees.I have the check number on both transactions and Quicken can't figure out it's a duplicate?This may be my last Quicken.UPDATE: I downloaded a "update" and now I'm locked out. Customer service doesn't answer the phone after 5pm. There's no chat. The update now requires a e-mail address, and I changed e-mail so the old sign in doesn't work. I can't update the e-mail because I can't sign in!!!!Aaaarrragggghhhh. I HATE QUICKEN!!!!!!UPDATE #2; I tried to contact Quicken again during business hours. 30 minutes on hold, got through and he was having trouble helping. Then I got disconnected!!!Worst customer service ever!I'm now on music on hold waiting for another attempt, after this, I'm deleting Quicken.
