Breathe new life into the DEWALT XRP line of drills!
Received these the other day. My initial impression is that these are going to be excellent replacements to the original NiCad. As someone with multiple DeWalt drills using the 18v XRP NiCad battery, I was looking for a cost effective way to continue using these tools which range from a hammer drill to a right angle drill. Lately, I was lucky to get through an hour of work utilizing all 7 of the original batteries!I toyed with the idea of replacing the cells myself, but really didn't want to go through the hassle - especially as I was considering upgrading to Lithium Ion. Thankfully, I came across these, which to be honest, seemed a little too good to be true as the price of two was close to $20 cheaper than OEM NiCad ones. I have not run these much yet, so time will tell.Upon receiving them, I put them on the original charger to "top them off". The battery indicator on one stopped blinking and showed as full. The other continued to blink indefinitely. However, pulled it off the charger and it showed as full.I put one on my hammer drill and the drill felt brand new again. Nice and powerful!Pros:- 1:1 replacement of original 18v XRP NiCad battery- Use of original charger!- Lighter!- Powerful!- Power indicator!- Price!!Cons:None so far...I’ll be on the look out for any capacity issues as others have noted. Certainly, they’ll be better than the current NiCad ones...I hope.If they perform as well as they appear to, I will plan to purchase a few more.

DO NOT BUY THESE BATTERIES
These batteries are Junk. One lasted 2 months the other was DOA. Total crap. Spend a few $$ more and get a decent product. This ain’t it.

So far so good.
The batteris, when you first charge them will show that they are done, when using dewalt charger, but the lights on the batteries will only show 2 or3 bars. I just left them overt night and came back the next day and three battery indicator showed full. I can feel a difference in tool performance with these new batteries. They have breathed life into my 20 year old dewalt tools.I will let you know how it goes with the batteries later on as I have just received them.

Was great for the first 2-3 weeks of very light use.
Batteries were too good to be true! Super light, nice battery gauge, everything was great. Then out of the blue, when I pulled them out of my Dewalt tool bag, I drilled half of a hole and it stopped working. I thought that was odd so I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in. Drilled some more and it stopped again. I hit the battery level and it was full. I had barely used it after my first charge so it made sense to have a lot of battery left.I charged it again and the same thing happened. It sops dead in it's tracks when you are using it like the power is just shut off. Too late to return them of course so I am stuck. I do not recommend them.I had a feeling it was too good to be true.

Excellent battery life!
I bought these batteries as direct replacements for the original NiMH units that had worn out.The first project straight away was a loft bed built out of 2x4’s and 2x6’s, which necessitated a lot of screws and the use of a pocket hole jig. Not only did I manage to drill all the holes and install several dozen screws, the battery had nearly 50% capacity remaining at the end of the project!Relative to the original batteries, these have greater capacity, more endurance, and seem to charge quicker. They’re also a lot lighter. The battery status LED on the back of the batteries is a nice touch. It gives a good indication of remaining battery life while you’re mid-project.The original battery charger worked well, but I did notice that to get full charge I had to pull the battery after the charger indicated full. Once I re-inserted into the charger for a little bit longer, it worked fine. Not a dealbreaker.

The batteries only charge 50% with the Dewalt charger.
I built a 14x24 deck using a Dewalt cordless 6 1/2 skill saw. The recommended charger is needed to get a full charge in the batteries. The batteries don't spin the blade as fast as the original battery. The batteries did not last as long as the original Dewalt battery. They did do an adequate job while they were powered up. For the price, it's an average value.
