An incredible model…and amount of my time
The media could not be loaded. First off, this thing is just so cool. It was my first time doing a kit like this, and it blows me away how amazing and fun it was. However, it wasn’t all fun. You end up having to doctor most pieces to get them to fit right. Sandpaper, an X-acto, and tweezers are necessary, and not included. When sections come together, though, it makes all that frustration and annoyance well worth it. I also want to point out that there are some groups of pieces that have almost a precise number, which means you have to be perfect the first time. I learned that the hard way. Finding extras was incredibly difficult, so it resulted in me purchasing a whole new kit. It was ultimately beneficial, because I knew I had a lot of backups going forward. I ended using quite a lot of them, too. When it comes to the instructions, they are far from easy to understand. But once you study them for a bit, you can figure things out fairly quickly. Just don’t expect something like a Lego manual that shows piece by piece placement. You’re kind of on your own here. As I mentioned in the title, this took a long time to complete. I started in October 2022 and finished it in August 2023. I would venture to guess that I probably worked on it 75% of the days between those months. It was ~60-90 minutes each day. Now, I’m a perfectionist. I assume most wouldn’t be so obsessed with perfection, but as this was taking up so much time, I figured I’d perfect it as much as I could. The light and the cage around the light aren’t included. I purchased the light and built the cage on my own. The light can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01FZHI8UG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_imageThe cage was built using washers and rods. Overall, if you have the patience and are fascinated by this lighthouse, like I am, it’s worth it. Other than the extra financial investment, my time, and the health of my knees, it was a great time.

Fun model building with wonderful 3d structure with lots of detail.
This was my second model from Aedes Ars. It was an excellent experience, I really got the feeling of the work that went into this ancient building. I had an issue that I contacted the company via email about and their customer service exceeded my expectations.
