So you can keep your attention where it belongs, SAVVY turns down the volume of V1’s alerts automatically at low speeds. SAVVY has just one control, a thumb wheel to set a speed threshold. Below your set point, the audio comes through on V1’s Muted Volume (set this with V1’s Control Lever). Above the threshold you hear the normal loudness you’ve set with the V1’s Control Knob. SAVVY stays nearly out of sight down near your steering column where it serves as V1’s power source. It replaces the Lighter Adapter or, in “hiddenwire” installations, the Direct-wire Power Adapter. Just plug SAVVY into the OBD diagnostic port, standard on every new car and light truck built since January 1, 1996. Then plug V1’s power cord into one of two RJ-11 jacks (the other works with the Concealed Display or other V1 accessories). The thumbwheel has eight setting between 15 and 65 mph. Choose one, or select AUTO, which mutes all alerts, or choose NONE to eliminate automatic muting. SAVVY is ideal for those who want to hide V1’s power cord. Two wire clips and a beaded tie strap are included to secure the power cord to V1. SAAVY fits in the palm of your hand and weights just 2.2 ounces. Black only. NOTE: SAVVY draws a small current from the car battery even with the ignition switched off. Use caution in vehicles with weak batteries, or that go for long periods without being driven.

Does exactly what's advertised
I found the constant bleeps and squeaks at traffic lights and parking lots to be annoying, this thing is a huge improvement. You set a little rotary dial on the unit to a certain speed (I think mine's set to 20) and whenever you're below that speed, the V1 is muted.I was worried about having to run both power and SAVVY connections to the V1, but it supplies the V1 with power directly from the OBD port (I've used it in three different cars with no surprises). So, only one connection - bonus! The price is a tiny bit steep, but I'll say it's quite well-made, I don't imagine ever having problems with it, and it's a simple, well-done solution that makes the V1 much more valuable. I only touch the volume knob on the V1 maybe once a week now, instead of every day - and most important, I won't forget to turn it back on!

Almost certainly the cause of two blown fuses in my car.
Within 10 minutes of starting to use this the HVAC, radio, and navigation controls on my Infiniti stopped working. $100 later found out that there was a blown fuse between the OBD port and the car's body control module (computer). After replacing the fuse tried the SAVVY again and the fuse blew again.Have replaced the fuse and not reinstalled the SAAVY and 800 miles later no more blown fuses.I can't prove that the SAAVY caused the problem but it is far and away the most likely cause. I will not plug it into my car again and will be returning the product. The product worked great for the 10 minutes it worked. Great concept.

It works, but it's bulky if your OBD port has a cover
It's a little bulky so if you have a cover over your OBDII port this may not work for you. I had to un-clip the OBD socket in order to plug it in and close my cover. Valentine should build a speed sensor into there unit so you wouldn't need this extra hardware.

Perfect, rapid shipping, but...
As usual, Amazon Prime shipping is second to none. Unfortunately, the SAVVY would not work in my 2013 Subaru WRX STI. I suspect it has something to do with the Cobb Accessport tuning (via CAN-BUS port). Bummer. Accessport-tuned gearheads, beware.

Great Product
Works great in my Audi. Valentine will latch muted while the threat is active, even after going faster then the speed threshold. It requires the threat to clear before unmuting. Prevents full alert from startling you once you exceed the speed threshold. A little pricey, but resolves the constant alerts in parking lots and while sitting at stop lights.

After fiddling around with other options in trying to get power from the overhead lighting, i opted to 'install' the V1 Savvy. It was painless. Total installation, including hiding the wire, was probably 10 mins. Greatly appreciate the product.

Lighting up all lights and making the most annoying sound in the world once it came back on
Doesn't work!!! makes the Valentine turn on and off constantly. Lighting up all lights and making the most annoying sound in the world once it came back on. Waste of time and money on this product!!

Pretty good, but...
I like this thing. I wished it would have worked better for my older model and product description is not clear about that. It was an easy alternative to tapping into an existing circuit to apply power to my detector.
