Russell Hobbs 25910 Absolute Steam Iron with 160 gram Steam Shot, Anti-Calc and Self Clean Functions, 2600 W, Purple/White

I needed a lightweight iron [torn tendon in right arm]my old iron was 20 years old and very heavy. So really the main reason for purchase was its weight, however I'm really pleased with it, it's easy to use the steam features work well [I do a reasonable amount of sewing] it gets into smallish spaces, it glides, I don't have to push it. The controls are clear and easy to use. It has a really long flex. Only down side is that it does occaisionlly spit out water, but that is to me a minor point. Good value for money.

It’s a good sturdy iron. Does the job it’s supposed to so can’t complain.

My old iron is still hanging on & this is the back up for when the first one finally stops working. A little drippy on the fill side but that was my fault - won't fill it so full next time. Only tried once on a stubborn item & it ironed well , which is what matters most to me. It is a bit heavier than my old iron but will get used to that

Terrible steam iron, steam plate needs cleaning due to sticky residue build up. Self clean mechanism is hit and miss at best. Steam pores need regular cleaning despite using descaler regularly.Temperature control isn't accurate.Gave up the ghost today after just 3 years as it was causing circuit breaker to trip. Turns out water seeped into hotplate and caused it to rust out. Just shows poor workman ship.

Lightweight easy to handle when ironing, good sole plate, pinched nose is helpful. Hard to see water level when filling to the point of over filling, spilling water, the cord end where it enters the iron is a hinged joint so when placed upright on board if not in right position will cause the iron to fall over which is dangerous, and for the length of cord 2 meter there is no secure way of wrapping it around body for storage and is a pain a simple moulded plastic ridge on body heel of iron would not have taken a genius to include clearly none working at design level for manufacturer .

This was bought as a present but my daughter says it’s lighter than she thought and gives a lovely steam jet
