High quality motor
Purchased this to repower my Porter Cable 80gal air compressor. The frame size was exactly what I needed, wiring was relative simple and it functions very well.Just wished it was less expensive, more price comparative to another brand for sale on Amazon

Replacement for IR SS5L5
Popped this on an Ingersol Rand Compressor (Model: SS 5L5) and it mounted perfectly. The base arrived a little bent. I straightened it, as others have, in a vice fairly quickly. Works great and is next to impossible to beat for the price. Only time will tell for the quality, but it operates as good as the original motor.If it fails prematurely, I'll come back and update with a deceased date. However, I would expect this to last a reasonable amount of time.

Worked great. Direct swap for my Kobalt 80 gallon compressor. Very happy.Update: Sept 3rd, 2018. Still going strong. Great motor.Update: December 26th, 2020. Still working as it should. No Issues.

oerating voltage
Description sad that motor runs on 115v/230v. Got the motor-no wiring diagram. spend hours on internet to find wiring diagram, no luck. Contacted Amazon.Got answer that motor runs only on230v. Ionly have 115v. have to return to Amazon. Bad description.

This motor was not a direct replacement because of the different mount but that was easy to fix on my compressor
I arrived home from running an errand to see the UPS driver get into his truck after setting the box next to my garage door. He raced away as quickly as he could, I guess because the box had been dropped somewhere and the single piece of box tape on the bottom had failed. One corner of the mount pad was bent from where it had punched a hole in the box. Not to worry; I had seen other comments about the mount pad arriving needing vice work, so I was prepared.This motor was not a direct replacement because of the different mount but that was easy to fix on my compressor. The mount has been commented on numerous times. The problem I saw was that it could use a bit more forming before it is welded onto the motor case, but other than that, it wasn't too difficult to get it bolted down by using a c-clamp on the back side. The electrical hook up was easy, too.I was able to use it for about two hours this afternoon and it functioned the way it should. It is a bit more powerful than the old motor, but then, maybe the old motor was just that: old. I hope to get years of service from this motor.
