Worked for dog food bags
Clothes pins and chip clips are too small and weak for the heavy plastic in dog kibble bags. I can fold the bag and use two clips to hold it shut.

No Plastic Yay
This is for the 3.4 inch size. Good general use clips for those of you who are avoiding plastics. Simple one-piece design. They open to just a bit over 3/4 inch, which works for chip / food bags, paper bags, and general use. I measured about 5 pounds clamping force, which is perfect. If you put one on your finger, it doesn't quite hurt, but there is no way you can shake it off.One star off for the design flaw - the fulcrum point of the arms is the spring coil itself, and it tends to spread the coil apart because the arm wedges itself between the coils. For the most part, it does not affect how they function.

I love these clips for my garden and hanging clothes. The large ones are the most versatile.

Great for Backpacking and Chip Clips
I originally bought these to use on the Camino Portugues, and have been using them as chip clips since I got back home. They were perfect for clipping wet socks and shirts to the back of my backpack on the Camino, so they could dry in the sun. I will probably buy more sizes because they are so versatile.
