I wanted this to use a tablet or small laptop in bed to check weather forecast or watch a movie. While it will easily hold the items, it needs more height to get above bed and your legs on top of bed (and covers). To make a truly great stand, it would be great if it were adjustable up and down, but I also think another 6" to foot over the bed would be better as well. The top area if you leave open you can store taller items. However if you want to move it back to position as the top of the table, you would need to keep them smaller, maybe 6" high (I didn't measure tho). It does slide easily and i also loved that it has wheels, so can be moved if needed.

SO HARD TO PUT TOGETHER! RIDICULOUS INSTRUCTIONS MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT TOGETHER! TOOK ME 7 HOURS OVER A SPAN OF 3 DAYS WITH HELP FROM 2 OTHER PEOPLE!

I thought this would be a great nightstand but it was hard to assemble and some of the parts came off right away. It took several weeks to arrive and was slightly damaged. I lost the top knob already and can’t find it anywhere. Disappointed!
