We have a detached annexe with steps made of paving slabs going up to it. My wife wanted me to paint lines along the step edges to make them more noticeable at night (the property is set back from the road so there's not a lot of external light). There's a light at the door, but you need to climb the steps to turn it on.So I bought some hi-vis paint, and this masking tape to ensure a neat line. The tape stuck well enough to the slabs, which do have quite rough surfaces. I painted one coat, left it overnight then added a second coat. The following day I removed the tape and got exactly what I wanted, nice clean lines.Due to the viscosity of the paint, I don't think I could ever have achieved such precision by trying to paint the lines freehand, so if you have a similar job to do, then I recommend this product.

Excellent product for masking brickwork

Expensive, but it is really good at what it’s designed for.Sticks to concrete and bricks to allow fence painting and stays stuck for days. Very, very easy to remove and as I found out later, it can be moved from one piece of concrete to another as it’s still sticky on removal.No soak through. Excellent bit of kit.

Used when repointing crazy paving to prevent staining the stones. Stuck down well. Need a good knife or scissors to cut, too tough to tear. Overall pleased with it.

I was expecting a paper based masking tape that was strong, this is more like gaffer tape. Still does the job tho.

Thick, durable and will stick to anything. Even roughcast/pebbledash. No paint bleed through on the work surface underneath.I used a roll of this to mask the edges of my exterior window ledges for painting. The masonry paint did not seep through the tape whatsoever.The tape was left on the walls whilst the paint was drying overnight, and removed the next day, withstanding wind and heavy rain, it peeled off neatly, all in one action with no splitting or remaining tape on the surface.An outstanding product. Order 2 or 3 for larger jobs.

Bought it to try and tape dust sheets to a brick wall. Seemed to work ok but had fallen down within 24 hours. Tried again - same result. Later I used it to cover up a rip in a vinyl office chair. Ok orange on black isn’t a good look but it was just temporary until I could get some black tape. Again it seemed to stick ok but half an hour later it had peeled off again. Both these jobs were internal so it wasn’t even exposed to the vagaries of the weather. It should be done under the trade descriptions act.
