FirmstrongBella Classic Beach Cruiser Bicycle

I have been looking for a coaster bike for myself and had no luck. I visited Target and different bike shops to see the sizes but they either didn't carry them or you had to order online. I finally found the size I was looking for (24"...I'm short!) at Toys R Us but it was clearly for a young girl. Based on the reviews I took a chance on the Firmstrong Bella Classic and I'm very glad I did. The bike arrived quickly and with all parts in the box. No Damages! My husband was able to put it together even though he had to go onto the Firmstrong website to get the assembly instructions (they were not in the box). Anyway, I love my new bike. The seat is comfortable and the single speed and coaster brakes are just what I was looking for. It makes me feel like I'm 14 and riding my old Schwinn. The bike is available in 24" and 26" sizes...but the Firmstrong website recommends the 24" for people under 5'3...which I am. The 26" is for women over 5'3. I'm glad I got the smaller one...the 26 would be too big for me.

Love this bike! So happy I researched bikes and decided to go with the Bella from Beach Bikes. The excellent reviews are exactly as promised. not only is this bike of excellent quality, but the Beach Bike company itself is truly amazing. I got a local community feel the minute my order was processed. They contact you and are truly excited to share this experience with you because they honestly love what they do. Beach Bikes is their life and you can see that in their product and customer attention. I live in Miami so I am lucky. Biking is big here and I ride to a nearby marina almost every day. I am also a runner but to be able to add biking to my passions has been awesome. I have the freedom to travel further on my bike and am able to appreciate the beautiful city and community where I live. I would recommend Beach Bikes to everyone. I have a lot of friends that bike and went to a lot of bike shops before I decided on Beach Bikes. So happy and I will be a customer for life...no doubt!

Being a former bike shop manager/mechanic, I was surprised at the value of this bike which was on sale for about $200 (with Prime delivery) at the time of purchase. This bike is still a good deal at $300 if it's put together correctly.Although the bike is mostly preassembled and has the potential of being put together within an hour, I took my time and went over every piece/component (gift for my daughter). It took me about 3 hours from opening the box to dialing it in.Given the price point, the wheels are true (rims are alloy, btw), the shifting is crisp (can't go wrong with Shimano) and no missing parts! Not the best hubs and bottom bracket, but on par for the price.Although I am very pleased with the purchase/price, it revealed a limitation in purchasing a larger item from Amazon. That is, how do you resolve problems like scratches? I called Amazon to see if they or the manufacturer could send me a little touch-up paint, but only provided two options: 1) Return the bike; or 2) Accept a $5 credit.Given the size, the effort required to repackage/return and the time constraint (X-mas present), returning it for a few scratches didn't make sense. A $5 credit wasn't gong to help in this scenario. I even offered to purchase the touch-up paint, but that was not an option. So the lesson is, you have to factor in these risks when purchasing a bike from Amazon.Pros:1) Quality of parts2) Styling3) Nice PackagingCons:1) Although packaged well, arrived with scratches2) Very heavy and unusually large - even for an adult cruiser3) Brakes, due to the long cable housing, routing and no brake bosses, are mushy (within par for price)

It was super difficult to put together. I didn’t have the right tools. I finally had to take it to a bike shop and it cost me more to put it together then when I paid for it.

I really love the vintage look of my baby blue cruiser and can't wait to get a white basket for it and maybe a bell. I did have a little problem, though. My hubby insisted on setting the seat too high (yes, he put the bike together without any problems, bless his heart). I kept telling him I really thought the seat needed to be lower because I was only able to touch the tips of my toes to the ground. Well, I got on and rode for 15 minutes and was getting ready to stop and I don't know what happened, but the bike started falling to the left. And, you guessed it, I fell off because I couldn't get my feet on the ground fast enough and ended up spraining my wrist. Thankfully, I fell on the grass. For me, it just works better to be able to put both feet flat on the ground. I've been nursing my wrist and will be trying to ride again now that the seat is just where I wanted it in the first place. This is the way I remember the level of my bike seat being all those years ago. Also, I am very impressed with the excellent customer service.

This bike is amazing! I love it so much. It's light weight and super cute but the seven speeds and handlebar breaks help me get around in hilly communities here in Phoenix. It's super comfortable and the seat and handlebars are very comfortable. The paint job and fenders are very cute and nicely done. The gears shift smoothly. I can steer away from traffic well and I can stop on a dime. In true cruiser fashion, the wider tires are great for my balance and do well in desert sand and grass, though I mostly use it on low-traffic surface streets.

I am really impressed by the quality of the materials used on this bike. The bike went together very easily except a couple screws on the upper part of the rear fender that wouldn't tighten without getting a wrench to hold the nut from turning. You need to have the proper size wrench to get into a tough area. This is a bike that will will stand the test of time and someone will be riding it 50 years from now. Thanks Firmstrong for paying the extra money to manufacture a quality product.
