Don't let the "digestive" word put you off!
Having lived the first part of my life in London, I'm going to consider myself entitled to say that anyone but the British would have re-branded by now, but, well... tradition. And maybe a bit of contrary stubbornness. "Digestive" just refers to the fiber in the whole wheat (graham flour) that goes into these biscuits, making them good for digestion. As for taste and texture, they're a richer, slightly more dense version of graham crackers. If you make graham cracker pie crusts, try making them with crushed McVitie's digestive biscuits (no additional sugar required -- just add melted butter, and press into a pan), and you may never go back. They're great dunked into coffee, tea or milk, and we sometimes crumble rough chunks into ice cream. Or we make a kind of quick and easy parfait dessert, layering Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream, lightly crushed digestive biscuits and homemade lemon curd (another lovely British edible with an off-putting name) -- luscious and refreshing. I recently found a recipe that uses these biscuits to make a deliciously crunchy crumb topping for apple crisp, and I'll never make the traditional crumb topping again. These made-in-the-UK biscuits are a bit more expensive than the same biscuits made in other McVitie's locations, and I have a slight preference for the UK version. But all the versions that Amazon offers are tasty and always fresh, so I buy whichever meets my budget at a given time, and am never disappointed.8/12/24 UPDATE: That "never disappointed" comment above no longer applies. I deliberately ordered the more expensive, 4-box of these biscuits as opposed to the 6-box item I ordered a bit earlier this year. Prior to that order, I had ordered the 4-box, imported from the UK item. After tasting the difference between the "made for McVities" and the "imported from the UK" option, I decided to pay more and go with the 4-boxes of UK imports. Just received that order today, and got the same biscuits I could have bought in the 6-box set "made for McVities." These are the same biscuits as for my last order, which were a bit of a letdown, especially after enjoying the actual, made in the UK biscuits. I checked with a friend in London, and I was right -- the packaging of the made-in-the-UK biscuits I got earlier this year is still in use in Britain, and what I just received were not made in the UK. And I'm not being a fussy foodie. Wheat and other ingredients from other countries do taste different, and the made in UK McVities are noticeably more tasty, and the texture is better. But for this order, I just spent more, got less, and ended up with something I could have bought at one of several local grocery stores that carry McVities.4/19/25: It's happened again. Just broke into another 4-pack of these supposedly "imported from UK" biscuits, and once again, we received biscuits made elsewhere. At first, we didn't even notice the difference in packaging -- it was the fact that the biscuits were very light and much more airy -- not as dense as the usual UK-made version. And the flavor is a bit different. But considering how many companies are having to make changes to keep pricing down due to inflation, we thought, "Well, there goes another downgrade to a usually dependable product." Then we checked the packaging, and our suspicions were confirmed. This order was definitely not the McVitie's imported from the UK -- it's hit or miss: sometimes when we reorder the same item, we get the UK-imported version, and sometimes the versions that are made for McVitie's, but somewhere else.

Original and terrific
The original and just terrific, proper British digestives. Great with blue cheese, great in pie crusts, more flavor and texture than graham crackers in pie crusts. Hard to find in stores these days, so I will keep ordering them!

Love these…
Love these with my coffee or tea! They are not overly sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness. They were fresh and none of them were broken. Even if some were broken, I don’t mind. I just end up crushing them in my greek yogurt.

Cookie good
To me this is the best cookie (biscuit) on the market. It has a crunch I love. I haven't gotten many broke cookies always fresh and delicious. No were in the description did it state the ounces per box. When I got them it was not worth the money, they were six and a half ounces short of what they sell in the store. I could have gotten four big boxes for less then what I spent. With all that being said the shipping was delayed.

Very poor packaging!
Unless you are looking for an easy pie crust do not waste your money. Flavor is good but packaging is awful. Bags within flimsy boxes have weak seams and are partially open. No whole biscuits in any of the boxes. Pieces smaller than 1/3 size of whole biscuits, with majority small crumbles. Better option is the 4 pack version.

Reasonably well packed - but these are 4 half-size rolls, be aware
Even though AMAZON tossed these in with several flats of canned cat food, the four rolls were so well taped together that they mostly survived the handling. They are fresh and in good condition. Price per ounce is a tad higher, but there we are.
