KenmoreKC26QSTZV06 Vacuum 3-Prong Circuit Spring Unit Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Part

I purchased this as one of my prongs broke. After replacing it was still not working. I found by disassembling the swivel from the hose there was also a wire broken. Probably from 15 years of yanking on it! Trimmed the hose back 1/4”, put everything back together and was back in action.

This part was not an exact replacement for our vacuum. It only needed a 2 prong plug, so the center prong needed to be removed. After removing it, it was fitted in to place and fit perfect. The original 2 prong is not available any more that I could find.One of the original prongs became eroded/burnt and would not keep contact. Only thing is you will probably need to replace the part it plugs into also, because the female part is also burnt/eroded. Just a heads up. Found that on Sears Direct.

This 3-Prong Circuit Spring Unit is a replacement part and will work, but for how long? I have taken a picture of the old part, which clearly shown the addition of material on the end of the spring clips. This is known in the industry as "No Arc" material. It is made to handle all the flashes that occur when electrical equipment is switched on and off. Although it is shown in the ad, it doesn't actually exist on the new part. You can see that in the picture of the new part that I received.Also the spring material on the original is steel of stainless steel, very springy. Being all copper, I have serious doubt they will last as long as the original, but time will tell.As I said at the beginning, this part will work.
