Albert Augustine 523A Gold Label Classical Guitar Strings

My newest guitar is an Antonio Arapicio 130 and I have been searching for those perfect strings that bring out the perfect tone. The Augustine Gold label strings are some of the best sounding strings I have tried. They feel a little smoother than other strings and I had to adjust my playing slightly to compensate. After the 2nd day the strings kept very stable pitch and don't seem to go out of pitch very badly at all as my guitar warms up to match my body temperature. The tension feels slightly lighter than I expected based on other people's reviews. The transition between the tone of the 4th and 3rd strings is pretty smooth as well.My only complaint is that the metal wound strings do appear to get corroded and gunky faster than some other strings, which is slightly disappointing. I have used them for about a month and the tone has stayed consistent and strong. I expect about 2 months of life out of a set of these strings.Although I am still searching and trying out different strings for my new guitar, I suspect I will probably come back to these strings.

My main Classical Guitar is a Cordoba C5 that I have been playing for several years. I have it set up perfectly and I have changed the strings many times on this guitar as well as others over the years and I believe that I use good and accepted technique when changing strings. These strings seemed visually to be of lesser quality than my usual D'Adarrio EJ45 strings and also seemed to be somewhat shorter than the D'Addario strings but I installed the strings on my C5 without incident and slowly brought the strings up to pitch over the course of several hours in my temperature and humidity controlled studio. The floppy end of the strings were positioned at the tuner end of the neck and the stiff end of the strings at the saddle per generally accepted practice. At no time did I need to unwrap any of the strings to try to correct a mistake in the wrapping or tying on process. I'm sorry to not be able to report on the sound of the strings because the D string broke at the saddle while the guitar was still on the repair stand before I even had a chance to play the guitar. I would suggest you consider a different brand of string.

This is the first time I tried these strings, medium tension seems to be the same as normal tension but not able to confirm that, my son likes them because they are slightly stiffer so they give him less string buzz. I'm an experienced nylon string knotter, and these strings were unusally short for my Canadian classic guitar, not sure why. Would have liked to see them about an inch longer, but I was able to get them on and so far no issues.

These strings I have known to be an all around good replacement for classical guitars, although I don't play a LOT, they felt very good when I installed them, they are durable and accurate.

Great balance and sound for about 2 weeks then the sound quality goes down a few notches. Like D Adario EJ 45 better for longer lasting strings.

I intended to buy a Blkset of Augustine. It's my mistake not to read, but buying Augustine since 1985 black package is low tension Black set...

Seem like great string. Especially for the price. I will see over time.

I found this product good value because they lasted longer than some cheaper strings and I found they produced a clear and rich sound.

i bought these for my top acoustic classical,an admira concert grande,they have a nice mellow sound with beautiful depth when fitted to my admira guitar,it is a combination i will probably stick with for the future.

These have a lovely mellow sound and settled in quickly. I found them easy to use and tuned up nicely. Perfect!
