Clear Pool All Summer
After my husband accidentally ran over the plug for our previous filter, we bought this to replace our other salt water system. Once it was set up, there was no more issues keeping the pool clear. Our yard is surrounded by numerous trees and even the pollen not numerous storms we had this summer was no match for this thing!

Pool care life changer!
Just finished our first season with this unit. Other than watching salinity and CYA levels, it's been a carefree, algae free year! With the hot weather in NC, it has always been a hassle keeping chlorine levels right and a constant war on green water. Should have bought this years ago.

Great!
The media could not be loaded. Follow the directions for the initial salt amount to be added and make sure to run this salt-water filter (add on to the regular filtration system for the pool) and you will be happy! I can’t say how wonderful this add on has been for our 24’ pool. We haven’t had to mess with our pool at all and it’s SPARKLING clear. I’m so glad we ignored some of the bad reviews - it’s a home run for our family!

Trying to save money
It was a great value, or so I thought. it was $164.19 so I bought it plus a sand filter (which I LOVE), media for the filter and salt. I had to wait for everything to arrive before I installed it on my pool. When I got all the parts I pour the salt in 24hrs prior to installing the saltwater system, i used a pool calculator to get the number of bags needed. I went to Home Depot to buy the PVC pipe, elbows and couplers that I needed to install the system, that was another $65.00. I installed the system and turned it on, read the instructions to set the system for my application. the green light was on with no other lights present. Good to go! not exactly, the connection at the cell had a little drip so I cut the PVC and put 2 unions ($25.00) in so I could take the pipes apart when it comes time to change out the cell or the media, I use a sealant I bought from the pool store to fix the leak at the cell housing and ran it for a week. all the lights were off except the green "WORKING" light. when I took a sample into the pool store, they told me there was no chlorine. I bought a salt tester for another 59.00 to make sure that my salt level was fine, after testing it, the tester said it was low. I bought 3 more bags of salt and poured it in and ran the pump for 24hrs and then tested the water and it was within the limits. I turned the system back on and ran it for a few days and took a sample back to the pool store and they told me there was no chlorine but the salt levels were good. I wrote to the company and got no response. so now I am over the 30 days, I called Amazon and after explaining everything they credited my account $142.84 . so the moral of the story is I tried to save money and bought I cheaper system $164.19, but after adding up the pipe, tester and couplings I spent close to $300.00. I would not recommend this product.

This thing is amazing.
We used 120lbs of Clorox salt in our 18' pool and it was just right. We put the unit on boost mode and let it run all night. I went out the next day and couldn't figure out why it wasn't running right anymore. I didn't know if it was this unit or the brand new 2500 index pump. Turns out that even after only one day of use I had to replace the filter (it was covered in algae). Ever since then I've changed the filter and checked the chemicals every week, set everything up to run for four hours a day and my pool is perfect. My four year old daughter is a little water dog and LOVES to swim. She has a habit of opening her eyes underwater and she really likes how at the end of the day her eyes aren't burning from all the chlorine. The only issue we have ran into is that we only have one outdoor set of plugs. Both this unit and the pump have plugs that use one plug and covers the other so we had to get creative. We purchased two short extension cords, plugged them both in and covered them up with an old wheelbarrow turned upside down to help keep the water off. So far no problems.

Has a fitting that leaks
For as much money as I paid for this thing I was not expecting a leak at the intake fitting. I tried different hoses, different gaskets but no luck. At least it’s been producing chlorine

Works Great - Could benefit from 1 additional feature
It works well. The system has an internal 24-hour system. So when you set it, it will restart every day thereafter at the same time. This is great, I just wish that it had some type of internal clock system. If it did, I could set it to start at, say, 10:00 a.m., and then if the system loses power or if I need to stop it temporarily, it would know to restart the next day at 10:00 a.m. It would additionally be nice if when the system loses power, it maintained the time so that when the power is restored, it wouldn't need to be reset. It's a minor complaint. Otherwise, I am really happy I purchased it.

So Far So Good - 1 Month in
Followed instructions, added suggested salt amount, tested water everything good to go , so far so good, water was clear with just Intex filter 3000, but added Salt Water Filter and it has been crystal clear. Hope that it continues. Initial pool chemicals used to balance pool and all levels and then I hope I won’t have to use chemicals after initial seasonal open for the rest of the time. Have not yet had to use boost or Ozone so we will see once I do.
