The Jamie Oliver Easy Ice Cream Scoop is kind of a spade/scoop hybrid. It isn't too heavy and isn't too light; it's heft allows it to cut through hard ice cream with ease without melting it too much like some of the other heated scoops I've used. You can tell that thought went into the ergonomic design of this scoop.Pros:- Easy to hold- Substantial (just enough weight to get the job done)- Curved/edged head - beneficial to get the corners of the cartonCons:- The only negative aspect of this product is that some people might not like the spade-like character of this "scoop" The edges, while a positive aspect to some, might be annoying to others.

I imagined for the price that this scooper would magically make me an ice cream scooping genius, but it turns out this is just a better quality scooper without and real bells and whistles that would put this above some of the cheaper options. It definitely has a good weight to it, and while it didn't impress as a gift for my girlfriend, it gets the job done. Thanks Jamie Oliver. Maybe next time you can create an ice cream scoop that plays MUSIC. No?

I never put much thought into an ice cream scoop, but they did. The front does not have a pronounced curve. That is helpful, especially when the ice cream is hard. Instead of immediately turning into the ice cream, it allows me to dig in a bit. Also, because the end is a bit flat, I can rock the scoop left and right slowly digging into the ice cream.

Was hesitant as I was replacing a much loved tupperware scoop I had for years that was getting pitted. This one is shorter handled and a different shape but I love the feel of it....easy to control and it works great!

Works great and solid enough to cut through very hard ice cream or sherbert. Running it under hot water makes it slice through the ice cream and makes a perfect round scoop of the product.

It does the job! My preview Ice Cream Scoop form other brand got rust!!! Hope this not get it... but does not seams like it!!!

Best scoop I've ever used. Comfortable to hold (even in my arthritic hands) and strong enough to dig into hard ice cream.
