Dregs Mega Deal
Great bargain - for the price of one album you get all three of the Dregs' releases on Arista, capturing them at their peak of their abilities when they moved to a major label and had the resources to make recordings with really high production values. This remastered reissue sounds terrific. To my ears much of the rock music of the 1980's sounds dated, but decades later this music still sounds fresh and innovative. The Dregs played a unique blend of instrumental Southern rock, fusion, country/bluegrass, Celtic, classical and other influences, all filtered through guitarist Steve Morse's genius for intricate composition and arrangement. Today it might be labeled "prog rock," but that's misleading to the extent that implies something ponderous or pretentious, the Dregs' music was exuberant and fun.

Is it possible to be widely considered one of the greatest of all time and still be underrated?
Steve Morse... I guess under appreciated would be a better term then underrated? I got into Steve Morse through his early solo records and went backwards into the Dregs. Have to admit I prefer the more rocking stuff he does but everything here is eminently listenable. Not much to say here... the level of musicianship and composition speaks for itself as does the range of styles played.Considering the budget these records were probably recorded for its a miracle how good they came out. Only real missteps are the vocal tracks on Industry Standard no doubt added on due to record label pressure to sells records and to try and get a "hit"Its shame these guys couldn't find more traction commercially without having to try to sell out but I guess that comes with territory when you are this unique and what you do cant be labeled and packaged as one thing for mass consumption.

A Significant Improvement over the Original CDs
The remastering of the three discs sounds great, and there is a huge booklet filled with info on the band and the remastering process. I was a little hesitant to go for this, because I own the original versions of all three discs, but I'm glad I took the plunge. The sound quality of the remaster was well worth it.

It’s the Dregs
What can you say, these are the Dixie Dregs. The only thing I don’t like is that they merged dregs of the earth with unsung heroes into one continuous album. But the music is all there.

Best instrumental rock ever
If you know the Dregs, you know these. The sound is improved over previous issues. IMHO, the pinnacle of instrumental rock. I have listened to "I'm Freaking Out" dozens of times and can still barely believe that something so complicated and difficult can cohere into a terrific tune.

Great albums...if I could hear them
I love The Dregs and especially these three albums but this set appears to have been recorded at a very low level. Tried listening on my laptop at work and had to crank the volume all the way up to hear. Same result when I got it home. Should have just bought the individual albums.

Remaster no!
