Pretty easy too install my issue with it the float is kinda poor quality once the tank fills the float doesn’t completely shut the water off it still hisses but if you pull up on the float it stops other than that it’ll work for now once it is worn out I’ll replace with a better quality

Worked great. It was a piece of cake to install after I removed the old. If your toilet has just the plastic tube going to the bottom, this unit comes with all you need. If yours has the hose going to it with an end fitting then all you simply do is leave off the plastic nut that comes with it.

Installed it today to replace the 40yr old leaky one.Not happy with the quality at all.Uses the inverted empty cup as a float (no Styrofoam in it) to rise and cut off the flow. EXCEPT it never cuts off the flow. It continues to hiss once full, never shuts off completely, and there is a Constant Annoying drip every 1-2 seconds inside of the column.At this point I am too tired to get it back out and ship back, and instead will just leave as is for now.The old one lasted 40 years. This one is crap out of the box.Edit** returning this. Water ran 24/7 for few days until I had enough.Multiple reviewers cite the exact same issue. This item is garbage and should be taken off Amazon.

Would not purchase this again as fill valve always passes water never shuts off unless I move float with hand very disappointing

This is a better setup, and works well. The old fluidmaster fill valve only has one support for the float to move up and down. This one has two, so the float moves evenly up and down. The old one would stick when almost full because it pivoted on one support, causing the float to stick and overfill the tank, then you hear some dripping when your trying to sleep. Also less expensive for this product. I would recommend.

I'm not sure if I got a dud, but there is something wrong with how the device is supposed to stop the water after the tank is filled. The gasket or whatever mechanism doesn't stop the flow completely, so it hisses and leaks for another two minutes or so. It does eventually stop, so I'm not going to bother to take this out and return it. The water does fill fairly quickly and noise level is normal.

The vertical float switch is a vast improvement over the old bulb float. My old bulb float would occasionally get tangled with the flapper chain causing the toilet to run on. The vertical float switch design isn't any where near the flapper chain so it always shuts off properly. It has adjustable tank level setting and easy to install.
