My experience with this item is somewhat limited as it was installed on a floor lamp in a room rarely used. The lamp shade is small. The basic installation was easy since this was a simple replacement of the arm that holds the shade and the structure feels substantial. My disappointment is due to the finial base being barely able to cover the shade frame disc hole that slips over the harp. The shade slips around a bit as one tightens the finial. The movement of the shade as one positions the lamp over a desk loosens the finial which must be retightened. A little more product in the finial would have ensured full contact stability with the shade frame. It appears good enough for current use but a larger finial or another harp may be needed should future use indicate ongoing dissatisfaction. I rated 4 stars across the board because the product otherwise appeared of quality and value.
