Great phones!
I have bought replacement handsets and new batteries several times for these Panasonic phones. I have had my original set for years, however as the years have gone by, I have replaced one or two as needed. I was able to add the new phones that I just purchased without a problem. Note to anyone buying, make sure you de-register the old ones first so that the “set” does not think you have the full 6 (max) already registered. They are great phones - I just have an elderly mom who drops them (and they are sturdy but not with repeated drops) so I opted to replace as needed.

Great addition to an existing set.
About a year ago we purchased the Panasonic KX-TG6421 unit with the base station and two remote handsets from Wal-Mart because the previous set we owned was still in storage from the move and we needed something quick. Needless to say that with the advances in technology, the new set was much better than the old one at half the price. Only problem, not enough handsets and Wal-Mart didn't carry them. Amazon to the rescue once again. This handset works perfectly with the less expensive KX-TG6421 base from Wal-Mart with the added benefit of lighted buttons. The coolest though sometimes annoying feature of this set is its ability to announce who is calling. It will say something like, "Call from ..." Each phone can have its on phone book with the ability to share numbers between phones. The 5.8 MHz operating frequency makes the calls clearer while some improvements in the electronics keeps the range quite good. We live on five acres and can reach most areas on the property. The phones are Energy Star rated and appear to have good battery life. My wife has left handsets off the charger for weeks at a time and they still work flawlessly. The last set of phones I purchased are over five years old and still in use by my cousin so I'm expecting to have a similar experience with these. Though I've never been a big fan of Matsushita products, the Panasonic phone line seems to be pretty good. Made in China.

Exactly what I needed, in new condition.
This was exactly what I needed and arrived in new condition. Arrived well packaged and in a timely manner. Easy to set up with just a few button presses of the handset and the base unit.I am very pleased, and considering adding yet another handset to the phone system. If I do, this will be what I order.

I love this phone
I bought this phone to add to a previously purchased 2-phone Panasonic system, which, according to the literature, can be expanded to up to 6 handsets. The main base station is wired to the phone company, but all the other handsets operate wirelessly, needing only an AC outlet for their charger bases. The main base station has a desk top speaker, a chip-based answering machine and a memo capability, as well as an intercom feature. The satellite handsets, including this recently purchased one, are portable, and they have speaker phone features, too. When I got this third handset, I took it out of the box, plugged in the charger, and in short order, the handset was effortlessly integrated into my pre-existing system. If I had 3 more rooms without phones I would not hesitate to add handsets like this to them, too.

Don't panic if it doesn't immediately sync
First of all, thanks to Amazon Warehousedeals on this handset and saved almost 30%. It's sort of like "certified used" with a guarantee policy. The handset is in perfect condition with all the accessories. It looked like a repacked (things didn't fit quite nicely, manual and original box beat up) and the batteries were still sealed and the cords still all neatly twist-tied up. I'll be sure to look at more Amazon used offers for other items.I had a bit of trouble with this unit. As far as pairing the phone, I followed the directions: hold base locator button for 4 seconds, then press the OK on the handset. Nothing. Did it several times with variations on the button thing. Nothing. So I unplugged the base unit for 15 seconds and allowed things to reset. Took out the battery on the handset and put it back in. Then held the locator button on the base and pressed OK on the hand unit. That did the trick! My phone book and the protocols that were on the other phones immediately were transferred to the new handset.I'm very happy that I could get another handset without buying an entire new set-up. I'm very satisfied with the original Panasonic phone system and glad that the extra handset was so seamless to integrate.

Voice Caller ID is great
Purchased this since we have a requirement for six phones in our home (had to purchase the 6th phone separately but it works seamlessly and looks just like the others). We had the Panasonic 4 phone unit and prior to that had the 3 phone unit when those were the only voice caller ID ones available. This unit works as well as the other two Panasonic cordless phone systems I've owned. I like the larger display so that when you lift the receiver you can easily see the number calling you. Most useful is the voice caller ID which announces the name associated with the number calling. That way you don't have to rush across the room to see if you need to pick up the phone. Voice mail system works well and easily and is very user friendly. I've been very pleased with all these units. On a side note the 4 phone unit developed a bad habit of making a small amount of white noise from the base unit whenever the phone was in use occasionally. Not an insurmountable problem but the only one that did that. The new six phone system doesn't do that. Recommend this highly.
