Bendaroos Glow In The Dark 500-Piece Mega Pack

My daughter received the "Glow in the Dark Bendaroos - 300 Piece Set" for Christmas when she was 4 years old. She is now 6 years old, and she continues to go back to this toy over and over again. Now that she's used up some of the colors from that first set, I bought the "Bendaroos Glow In The Dark 500-Piece Mega Pack" to keep her supplied with a range of colors.Only some of the colors are meant to glow in the dark, and of those, the lighter colors glow best. I don't put too much stake in the product's ability to glow in the dark - it's more like a bonus feature for me, and I really don't care if they glow or not. But, my daughter says she likes the way they glow in the dark because she likes to play with them in bed at night, and when I agreed to buy her new Bendaroos, she specifically asked for glow-in-the-dark ones.My daughter can play with these for at least 20-30 minutes at a time, so they're good for keeping her occupied and quiet.She sometimes tries to copy the suggested designs, but usually she uses her imagination and creates her own sculptures and art work. She does have trouble when she tries to follow the design instructions, but I don't hold that against the product because I really mostly value it for the way it encourages her to use her imagination.My daughter's bedroom is wallpapered, and she likes to stick her designs onto her walls. They really do stick and will stay put! At the same time, when they do come down (by choice or by eventually falling down), they don't seem to leave any discoloration or residue on the walls, so I'm happy.I would suggest using the Bendaroos in rooms with flooring, not carpeting, because their stickiness does pick up a lot of dirt and hair. Every now and then I will find a discarded, crumpled up Bendaroo on my daughter's bedroom floor, and it's pretty gross.As long as unused pieces are returned to their plastic bags so they don't pick up dirt, they can be used over and over again, which I love. Their stickiness does not seem to wear off as long as you smoosh them around a bit. Whatever the stickiness is does come off on your hands, though, so you'll want to wash your hands after playing with them.

My kids have made creations ranging from flat designs on a surface, to 3D designs as explained in the package instructions. There are plenty of sticks and colors included. Creativity is a friend; pet hair, dirt, and carpet are the enemies.Note for "Glow In The Dark" version: not all of the colors glow, just some of them. But they glowed beautifully for us. The longer they sit in light, the better they glow. And a good mix of glow and non-glow on one creation makes a very nice effect.I bought several of these for birthday gifts, ages 9 - 13. (Would consider safe for ages 5 and up, younger than that is questionable. Box says ages 3+) Fun for adults, too.These are some of my ideas for use:Travel, indoor summer fun, group activity, spelling or letter writing practice, sick day entertainment, family fun.

I bought Bendaroos for my granddaughters who loved them. They are easy to use and the directions and patterns are very kid friendly. The glow in the dark works well and we were pleased with our purchase. Not messy, fun, and used creativity and imagination to make objects from the patterns or of their own ideas.

My kids (8/10yrs old girl/boy) made these at a friend's house about a week ago -- been bugging me to get them. Ordered them this weekend and they arrived in a day. They've made a ton of insects, animals, mermaids, and more. Can't say enough about how easy these are to put together, how much fun they are to use, and so on! The glow in the dark addition of this pack make their creations extra cool. Loved them so much, we ordered another set!

Product was as described and kids loved it. Keeps them busy being creative at home or on the move. Price was right, think we paid more for shipping though than the product and it took weeks to get it (no fault of the product though).

Being experienced with what we call Sticky Wickies I didn't read the product description, just the title of the product. Didn't read reviews because, well, we've used these since the kids were little and now it's time to buy for the grandkids. The title of the product matches the box...the box says 500 pieces and Glow in the Dark. Only on the BACK of the box do you find out that only 200 of your 500 glow. Because of the false advertising on the box and title of the product I rated this an overall '2'. I was expecting 500 sticks that glow. I had a picture of the back of the box, but seems Amazon doesn't have the option for posting pictures anymore?

The grandkids love this kit - Bendaroos 500, glow in the dark. They are very creative with the wax sticks. In and out of the closet to see the glow in the dark creations. 500 is plenty for 4 kids to be working at same time. Can't buy these in stores.

We're leaving for a trip and my children are traveling with us. Ages 7 & 5. We take Bendaroos with us on all outings and the kids behave so much better during meals. They are easy to pack and more then affordable.
