Toshiba 500GB 2.5-inch SATA III SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) 6Gbps 5400rpm 32MB Cache

This drive is listed as a sort of hybrid, SSD with extra NAN, whatever that is… But, you get what you pay for. By that I mean, I installed this drive, works fine, but.. and a big but, I have a utility that measures a hard drive rotational speed and this drive shows up at 5400 RPM. Pathetic. But I will say that if I use the same utility on an SSD drive, it doesn't register at all. So the technology in this drive probably is not registering correctly in my utility, BUT, it's installed in a laptop where I wanted to enhance performance, and it did not substantially enhance performance. It did slightly. Best way to significantly enhance laptop performance, get the best / biggest fully SSD (not a hybrid) drive you can afford.

This is a great drive! I was using a 240 GB SSD and needed a larger drive. This SSHD hybrid is perfect. It may not be quite as fast as the SSD, but really close. The 8 GB NAND Solid State part buffers the normal data flows to and from the physical hard disk drive. This is faster than directly reading and writing the physical disks.

I purchased 2. They worked good for me. Little noisy, I thought, but, hey they work fine.

It works OK, but it's not fast as one ssd

Did a search for 500GB SSD and this came up as one of the cheapest ones so I grabbed 2 of them. Unbeknownst to me they were SSHD which came up under my SSD search in which EVERY OTHER one on the entire page is a REAL SSD. So I got pretty screwed on these. $100 for 2 solid state HYBRID drives that will serve be absolutely no purpose whatsoever. I just bought a 2 TERABYTE FireCuda SSHD for my laptop last week for LESS than I paid for these 2 pieces of crap. Thanks for listing the drives under SSD so I would be duped.

This hard drive is good for the price

Worked beautifully to fix my MacBook Pro 13" (later 2011), so thankful and much cheaper to replace it myself rather than buy a new computer or bring it to the apple store.

Was looking to upgrade failed HDD for my Acer 5710. It is old laptop, but after CPU change and now after replacing old HDD with this Toshiba Hybrid drive laptop has become snappy and making people with new laptops and HDD' s envy. This drive is good for those, who are mostly using computer/laptop for internet surfing. If doing data transfers or playing games, then need to look for SSD or at least hybrid drive with 7200 rpm.3 stars only because title says Solid State drive. I was reading carefully, but not everyone does.

bringt wirklich eine gute peformance in vergleich zu normalen hdd. mit etwas training für die sshd wir der windowsstart bei mir auf 45 sek. reduziert.die platte macht genau was sie soll. klare empfehlung für den preis (58,-)
