Best live album ever?

Have been misled - foreign import. Booklet all in Japanese. This was a Christmas present - it's going back

I have had this album for three days or so and I have listened to it 10 times on each of those days. I look forward to listening to it. It makes me smile, laugh, and cry, all within a few minutes! The humour, the heartening tales, the sad stories, there is everything, every emotion, every feeling this legendary lyricist and storyteller could fit into the couple or so hours. The story about his guitar when he was 7, his hometown - this guys mind is incredible, how he can paint and etch a picture of freehold, new jersey into the listeners mind. The story about his father and the citadel public houses of Freehold. His father always his biggest hero, yet, always his greatest foe. His always loving, always dancing mother and Bruce looking up at her as she strode home from work. The story of tinker and driving across america in search of the promised land. The protest song about the Vietnam war veterans, his biggest selling album‘s title track and walter, the kovac book and a chance meeting with Kovac. Finding love and singing his romantic songs with his beloved Patti Scaifa onstage. Back to his dad and the apology after all that time claiming an ancestral role in bruce's life the day before his wife was going to give birth for bruce's first child. Tenth Avenue freezeout was not in my top 10 Boss tracks, now it’s my favourite at the moment, his Clarence Clemons tribute had me in tears. The story about how his band always had the 1+1= 3 formula - the main principle in life. When 1+1 = 3 the world around you changes forever. And when scooter and the big man bust the city in half.. they actually remade made THE CITY!

Springsteen On Broadway is recorded from his live almost-one-man show of monologue and stripped-back songs. It’s great in many ways; Bruce is a great performer, his long, personal spoken pieces are engaging (if rather obviously scripted in a lot of places) and the music is terrific. For me, the ratio of music to talk is too low, though.I saw Bruce live just once (Wembley Stadium, 1985, since you ask) and even there some of the introductions dragged on a bit, but the excitement and brilliance of the live performances more than compensated. Not actually being present makes a lot of difference here, and, excellent though the music performances are, it gets a little tedious at times.This is a show I’d love to have seen and which I’m glad to have heard. I’m not sure it’s one that I’d want to listen to repeatedly, though. Springsteen fans like me will want this in their collections but I’m not sure how often I’ll be playing it.

収録内容は、彼自身が語りかけてシンプルに歌い上げる…といったものです笑いあり、涙ありのライブとも朗読とも異なる彼ならではの舞台が展開します小規模なシアターだからこその親密な雰囲気もスタジアムのライブとは全く違い、スーパースターを身近に感じさせますで、本題 このアルバム、買うなら日本盤一択ですとにかくブックレットが素晴らしいですデジパックのジャケット内には、16ページのブックレットも付属していますが、これは本国盤と同様と思われ、内容は写真中心でテキストは曲目、製作クレジットのみと、ビジュアル重視のものです一方、日本盤にプラスされたブックレットは、56ページと大ボリューム勿論、全てテキスト、スゴイ情報量です当然、そのメインは各曲間の語りかけの部分の日本語訳ですドラマチックに構成されているのが、よく分かりますまた、その語りからの曲の方にも対訳付きこの語りの訳に入るまでに、この作品全体を俯瞰しての各演奏曲の解説まで付いてます〜この部分だけでも9ページのヴォリューム解説はスプリングスティーン関連なら信頼の五十嵐氏丁寧に仕事された日本盤ブックレット確かに輸入盤より高価ですが、価格差分の値打ちは絶対あります長々と書きましたが、英語が堪能で無い方以外は、是非日本盤を！作品の真価を堪能する為に必須～雰囲気含めるとテキストの訳文では完全フォローできず、そこは残念。やはり映像版…なのですが、Netflix限定かなぁ、パッケージで販売して！

歌の世界観がしみじみと感じられるボスのアコーステックライブ音源です。このアルバムに収録されているTougher Than The Restアコーステックバージョンは素晴らしいですね。他にもアコースッテックバージョンで初めて聴く曲が沢山収録されており、バンド演奏とは違った色気があります。僕が高校時代にボスの音楽に始めてであった時と同じ感動がこみ上げてきました。いつかボスのライブをアメリカで見ようと夢みた高校時代の思いは今も変わりません。

もともと、全力で誠実に歌う人だけに最近のブルースの声の衰えが気になりました。もし対訳がなければこの作品は楽しみが半減するでしょう。語りから歌に入る瞬間がこれほど、かっこいい人はいない。しかしスプリングスティーンのアルバムでは一番最後に買うアルバムではないでしょうか？もっと凄い作品が山ほどあります。

ニューヨークのブロードウェイで一昨年から長期上演されたブルース・スプリングスティーンの一人舞台。収録2時間以上というボリューム(本作はCD 2枚組)。 スプリングスティーンの子供時代から現在にかけての伝記的な内容を中心に、家族や友人や、アメリカの社会についてスプリングスティーンがドラマティックにユーモラスにシリアスに聴衆に語る。語りからの流れで、音楽が始まる。演奏はスプリングスティーンのギターかピアノでの弾き語り(妻とのデュエット2曲あり)。 作品聴く前は、語りいるのかな？音楽だけで充分では？と何となくめんどくさい(笑)と思っていたが、この日本盤は語りにもちゃんと翻訳をつけてくれていることもあり、スプリングスティーンの魅力的な語りと言葉に、予想以上に惹きつけられた。そして語りを聞くことで、彼の歌の世界にさらに深くはまることができた。声も歌いまわしも、そして詩もほんと良い。 特に2枚目からが素晴らしく充実して飽きさせない。大義のないベトナム戦争で犠牲になった兵士を描くひたすら重く暗い「ボーン・イン・ザ・USA」、亡き盟友クラレンス・クレモンズに捧げた煽られる「凍てついた十番街」、トランプ政権になり分断され始めているアメリカ社会への強い異議を唱えた後歌われる「ゴースト・オブ・トム・ジョード」(「怒りの葡萄」をモチーフにした歌詞が秀逸)。そして「さあ上ろう」と励ます「ザ・ライジング」。歌の力で世の中や社会や人の人生は変わるのかもしれないとスプリングスティーンの歌を聴いていると思えてくる。 どれも良かったが、聴いて一番盛り上がったのが「先が見えずどうしていいかわからないときは、ダンスシューズの紐を結び踊ろう！」と叫んだ後歌われる「ダンシング・イン・ザ・ダーク」。ギター一本でこれだけ燃えさせるスプリングスティーンの芸達者ぶりはさすが。 あと、ここまで歌詞カードを熱心に読みながらアルバム聴いたのは久しぶり。興味持った方は充実した国内盤をぜひ買って聴いてください。

以前出版された自叙伝をモチーフにした、ブロードウェイのライヴ。ドームクラスでしか見ることにできないブルースの、楽屋に遊びに行ったような感覚。サウンドもすばらしいし、日本盤ではモノローグの訳もすべて掲載されています。歌にたくされた想いがリアルに伝わってきます。

正直イントロ（語り）が多いので少しつまらないですが客との一体感はよく伝わってきます。それに歌っている時のパフォーマンスはさすがBOSSです。

素晴らしい！しかし、出来れば動画で字幕で視聴したかったですね。

Absurd. Delivered 2 months after I ordered it and the booklet is in a foreign language (I'm American, language is perhaps Japanese). Nowhere anywhere does it indicate that the booklet is in another language. RIP OFF!!!! Just buy the regular CD for 15 bucks.

The reviews written after recently are for this item as it took forever to send. The others are for the regular CD. The description is not correct here. There is nothing limited edition about this. Just buy the regular one or get it on Backstreets with a commemorative pin. Not worth the 2X price. CD is good though! Will be returning for the regular one.

This is an import, however the product detail doesn’t say where it is from. The booklet is completely in Japanese. Kinda cool, but unless you want the booklet in Japanese I wouldn’t buy this.

Not even a minor complaint . Genius and worth the wait for the international edition. Love the compilation, beautifully done as always

Can’t give it one star because the music and booklet lyrics are what I expected, but the rest of the liner notes are in Japanese. I don’t recall anything in the product listing that said this was a foreign release. Now need to go through the hassle of r turns. And all this after nearly a four month wait! Thanks for nothing, Amazon.

Booklet was in another language..returned it right away..ordered just the cd..disappointed

Most of paperwork,/play book was in Japanese, Sound Quality is terrible between to Low and too Loud..
