Young Goodman Brown

Nathaniel Hawthorne has a way of drawing me in to his tales. The writing is always so vivid and descriptive that I feel I'm standing in the shadows watching the story unfold in front of me. I would especially recommend this story to anyone who hasn't read Hawthorne yet since it captures his style in this very short story and gives you a taste of what his writing is about.

...you should buy the t-shirt, the black ice cream, whatever. But then sit back in the park, watch the 21st century Puritans walk by, and read this story. It brings the whole 'witch era' to life!

I read this book because of the author. Apparently, I really don't care for the lesser books - back to The House of Seven Gables.
