This is 8 oz of 3_&1 oil, which is FAR larger than the “normal “ 1 or 2 oz size I used before. Since I’ve been around for awhile, I have used 3&1 oil for over 70 years. Yep, I used it when I was virtually a small kid. Why? Because my dad used it. He called it sewing machine oil, and my mom used it for her old Singer sewing machine. Yeah, that was a long time back. Then, it was the only oil we used to prevent rust and lubricate everything in the house or garage.It was the same for all my friends. I used it on guns, toys, tools, the lawn mower, knives, sharpening stones, garage doors, the swamp cooler, metal windows, and just about anything that was metal and didn’t move correctly. I also coated metal to stop rust, especially on tools. A couple of drops on the tool, wipe it all over, then take a rag and wipe it off leaving a trace of oil on tool to prevent rust. I never have to use a lot because it works very well. Now our civilization has invented a bewildering array of lubricants that are pushing out the “old” stuff. Well, I’ve used nearly every one of those new lubricants and I can’t tell much difference from 3&1 oil. WD 40 sprays on and dries after a while which is convenient and really good for areas that are hard to reach. I used newer products to protect the top of my table saw, because oil comes off on the wood, and machinery that will collect dirt or debris on oiled areas, or areas where the oil will run off and make a mess somewhere else, or in special cases like cutting oil, but for overall use on everyday items I still use 3&1. It works great and the cost is low compared to a lot of other options. I highly recommend this product. AD2

OMG!!!! I FINALLY FOUND SOME ((( "3 IN ONE OIL" !!! ))) HALLELUJAH!!!! AND IT COMES IN A NICE, AMPLY FILLED BOTTLE, WITH A LIL RED SCREW TOP OPENER, SO YOU CAN ADJUST FOR A TINY DROP OR A NICE STREAM OR ANYTHING IN BETWEEN!! FIRST JOB: ((MY 1993 TOYOTA CAROLLA DX )). BOUGHT IT NEW, BUT THAT HATCH BACK AND DOORS ARE SQUEAKING LIKE CRAZY. I USED A FEW DROPS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE HATCH, GAVE IT A FEW UPS AND DOWNS AND OH MY GOODNESS, THAT THING OPENS/CLOSES SOOO GOOD NOW. JUST LIKE NEW, MAYBE EVEN BETTER!! DID THE DOOR HINGES TOO AND MY "GIRL" IS VERY HAPPY NOW!! (3 IN 1 OIL) HAS BEEN AROUND FOREVER!!! I AM 69 YRS YOUNG AND MY DADDY INTRODUCED ME TO THIS STUFF. I HAVE SO MANY MEMORIES!! YES, IT'S RUST RESISTANT , IN FACT, AS A LIL GIRL I REMEMBER MY DAD ( AN OLDER DAD) BORN 1905, SOAKING OLD METAL, RUSTY TOOLS IN THE OIL OVERNIGHT AND NEXT DAY HE WOULD TAKE SOME OLD RAGS AND WIPE EM ALL DOWN. THOSE TOOLS LOOKED "BRAND NEW" AGAIN!! AFTER MY DAD PASSED-ON WE HAD AN "ESTATE SALE". I SAW AN ELDERLY GENT. CHECKING OUT THOSE SAME OLD TOOLS. NOW RUSTY AGAIN. MY SON WAS DOING THE PURCHASES. LATER I ASKED "WHAT DID THE OLDER MAN BUY?" HE SAID "GRANDPAS OLD TOOLS, MOM". " THEY WERE ALL RUSTY BUT HE REALLY WANTED THEM." "SO, I DIDN'T CHARGE MUCH". "OK" I SAID. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE OLD GUY STOPPED BY TO SEE US AND SHOW US WHAT HE HAD DONE WITH THE OLD TOOLS. WELL, JUST LIKE MY DAD, HE THRU THEM INTO A BUCKET OR PAN OF .... (3 IN 1 OIL) AND HE HAD SHINED THOSE TOOLS LIKE NEW AGAIN!! I STARTED TO CRY BECAUSE OF THE HAPPY MEMORIES HE BROUGHT BACK TO ME. (MY DAD HADN'T BEEN GONE LONG). I ASKED THE MAN "WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE TOOLS NOW"? "OH!!" HE SAID, " I'M GOING TO GO SELL THEM TO THE ANTIQUE SHOP DOWNTOWN". "YUP! HE DID" AND HE PROBABLY MADE A SMALL FORTUNE ON ALL THOSE "ANTIQUE" TOOLS! GOOD FOR HIM!! HE WAS RETIRED, LIVING ON A FIXED INCOME, LIKE I AM NOW. GLAD HE FOUND THEM. AS THEY SAY: "ONE MANS TRASH IS ANOTHER MANS TREASURE". MY DAD WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY TO SEE HIM GET THEM TOO!! AND TO KNOW THEY WERE STILL BEING USED OUT IN THE WORLD, SOMEWHERE. IT ALSO PAYS TO INVESTIGATE THE VALUE OF OLD ITEMS. THEY COULD BE COLLECTIBLES! IF ONLY U SPEND A LIL TIME, SHINING THEM UP!! LASTLY, I LIKE (3 &1 OIL) BETTER THAN WD/40. THO, EACH HAS IT'S OWN USEFULNESS/APPLICATIONS. BUT SEEMS TO ME, THAT YOU GET "ONE HECK OF A LOT MORE MILEAGE" OUTTA (3 IN 1 OIL) THAN WD/40. W/40 SEEMS TO DRY OUT MUCH FASTER AND DOESN'T LAST AS LONG BUT BEING ABLE TO SPRAY IT AND HAVE LESS LIKLIHOOD OF DRIPPAGE ACCOUNTS FOR SOMETHING TOO, I SUPPOSE BUT SOONER OR LATER U R GONNA NEED THAT OLD ( 3 &1 OIL AGAIN). THE OTHER IS GOOD FOR "THE IN-BETWEEN" THE ( 3 IN 1 OIL) USES, BUT NOT FOR EVERY DAY. AS FOR EASE OF USE, IT CAN BE DRIPPY BUT IF YOU ADJUST THAT LIL CAP JUST RIGHT, THERE'S VERY LITTLE IF ANY, "DRIP". BRING AN OLD RAG OR PAPER TOWELS ALONG WITH YOU, SO U CAN CLEAN UP, JUST IN CASE... AND SOME WIPES- ALL GOOD!! 8 DIDNT 3XPECT A PLASTIC BOTTLE AS IT USED TO COME IN A LIL TIN CAN BUT GEE WHIZ!! ITS STILL VERY REASONABLY PRICED, ANOUT $7.00 FOR ?12 OZ I THINK. I think this is an amazing product. I used it in 2 places. My car's trunk hinges and patio door.

Just a few drops of this stopped my door hinges from squeaking immediately. Now I have enough to last 50 years probably. Warning though, order this by itself. I also ordered a bottle of ibuprofen the next day and Amazon decided to ship them in the same box together. The oil leaked a little bit and some of the oil got on the bottle of ibuprofen. But the ibuprofen was sealed so I just wiped it off the outside of the bottle. Most of the oil soaked into the cardboard shipping box. Not a big deal I guess. Not the seller's fault, just Amazon doing Amazon things. Actually I guess the seller should have sealed the bottle of oil, if not with a seal under the cap then plastic wrap around the bottle to prevent the cap from loosening. So I will take 1 star off but otherwise great product.

This is the tradtional product but in a value size, I use this on my scissors, garden shears, and tree branch loppers. Very good for preventing or delaying corrosion or build up of organics
