If your reading this I imagine you have an ice cold long neck in your hand, ice cold, looking delicious... but disaster strikes!! It's not a twisty top!! What are you to do!? Use one of the umpteen openers you already have.. however if your looking for something for guests and using your keys is getting lame... this is an elegant easy to use opener that works, it is just a bottle opener after all, how complicated can it be

I don't drink beer or most items that have a cap that needs to be taken off of a glass bottle, but every now and then we get artisan/unique sodas to try out, and my oldest son was getting irritated with the old one we had, which was getting warped and harder and harder to use. I was glad to get this KitchenAid Gourmet Bottle Opener to replace our old one, as it's so simple and actually takes up less space than the previous one. It's stable and super quick and easy to use. It easily grabs a hold of the caps and we're able to get them off with little effort. Everything about it is super sturdy, and it's really easy to keep clean. I love KitchenAid products for their durability and quality kitchenware items, and this one did not disappoint. It gets two thumbs up from this household!

This is a stylish bottle opener that handles soda, beer and other similar crimped cap bottles. The textured, slightly concave handle has a nice feel in the hand. I drilled a hole in the handle to accommodate a small "D" Ring Carabiner Clip. The carabiner clip works very well for attaching the opener to a belt loop or key ring. In the process of drilling the hole in the handle I discovered that the metal tang of the opener only extends a short way into the plastic handle. I verified this by sliding a magnet along the handle to a point where there was no longer magnetic attraction. While the lack of a full metal tang in the handle made it easier to drill, it also makes the leverage ( opening ) advantage of the handle weaker. I have deducted one star for that.
