Excellent Drone!
I picked up the Mavic Mini for surveying high places for construction and family pics in my off time. I've had many years of R/C planes and Heli's. So I decided to jump into this platform for the portability, the image quality, and ease of use.The Mavic itself is crazy light, yes I know it's supposed to be...but without the battery in it, you start to understand the kind of engineering is involved to meet the 249g rating as advertised. I live near a rather large airfield with multiple runways. I am thankfully between the approach paths in a forest area so there is a few miles of "clear" airspace to play in. Being responsible is key! Granted the app does a pretty good job of warning you of no-fly areas, but these are only half the equation. You as an operator, still have to be cognizant of other aircraft and be ready to react. In my area there are civilian and military airfields, but realized that even though DJI does it's best to keep you out of harms way, there are still aircraft and helicopters operating under VFR and may have clearance to fly lower than normal for training, so keep that in mind. The hardware hasn't given me any issues what so ever. No prop strikes, no loss of control, nor battery issues. I have all the latest firmware they offered and fly it regularly. The camera for only being 2.7k is excellent and they've added some manual controls to give you a little flexibility. The gimble tracks nicely andI realize there is no obstacle avoidance, although I wish they would give you the option of active track should you have an area you could use it.Radio connectivity has been great, you mileage may vary as I have a drastically reduced chance of running into dense radio spectrum in my sparse area. Prop holders while in the bag, are probably a good buy to keep your props from warping. Also, snag one of those mounts for you phone or device! I like to have a case on my phones to keep them in one piece. So a separate mount for these devices work wonders and the only other addon would be a longer extension cable to connect your device since the factory cables are only 3-4in long.Overall DJI did a great job on bringing a relatively inexpensive drone to the market for beginners and pros alike. Flight characteristics in wind or less than ideal conditions are pretty good considering the size and target market. In winds under 5mph, this thing is solid, higher that that you start to notice some buffeting to stay on point, but for this size category, it one of the best I've used. If your in the market, get the "Fly More" kit...it's worth it in spades.

THIS IS NOT A TOY!! I see all the negative reviews from beginners only and this is why...
I recommend to anyone before buying any drone, research it until you feel as if you own it your self, I have a fleet of DJI drones and no I am not sponsored, just a production company owner and Private Contractor and I have had my Mavic Pro's do Fly aways before, and that's a few thousand rather than a few hundred, or my phantom 4 pro v2's but if you prepare your self, fly safely and as specified, remember that you have 500 dollars flying camera not a drone for racing or just S and Giggles. I recommend learning the software through and through as your phone as a very important instrument when it comes to flying any high-end camera drone. Set your RTH (when possible) remember to fly safe and smart and be aware of your surroundings. If you want something to fly for fun that is the reason I bought this and its portability but first and foremost I know it is a camera with flight and gimbal. I just had to send one of my phantom 3 4k's and one phantom 4 pros in and I hate it but its what you pay for quality, for those who HATE DJI try Parrot or Autel Robotics.Works exactly as I expected it. I am use to flying my Mavic pro's or phantom 4 pros for video and photo normally but compared to the spark much better images and love the three access gimbal along with the price point and weight it cannot be beaten! I have my licence her in nm but this is so nice for shots in areas where I haven't been able to film legally before without my licence! Mostly I want to say EVERY BAD REVIEW I READ STARTS WITH I WAS SO EXCITED TO GET A DRONE BUT THEN... THAT IS THE PROBLEM although very smart at this price point you are not going to get obstacle avoidance and frankly what do you expect lol its 400 dollars for a 2k 3 gimbal drone. Next time get an app, I MEAN THIS AS WELL TO EVERYONE, I TELL EVERYONE TO USE A FLIGHT SIMULATOR FOR UAV'S OVER AND OVER AND OVER BEFORE EVER FLYING.PLAN YOUR FLIGHT KNOW EVERY SINGLE SETTING, KNOW HOW TO KILL YOUR DRONE IF YOU WANT, KNOW RTH PROCEEDURE AND HEIGHT ETC. KNOW YOU'RE SURROUNDINGS ESPECIALLY HIGH TENTION POWER LINES AND OTHER CABLES OR "SNEAKY OBSTACLES" AND PLAN ON THESE THINGS, EVEN BIRD ATTACKS WHILE FLYING!I HAD A MOTHER BIRD BREAK THE ARM OF MY FIRST MAVIC PRO, SO REMEMBER THINGS HAPPEN! SO TRY TO RECORD YOUR SELF FLYING OR HAVE A FRIEND DO IT AND KNOW THAT ALL OF YOU FLIGHT DATA IS ALSO CAPTURED IN YOUR PHONE AND IN THE APP AND CAN BE EXPORTED. I HAD TO DO THIS TO FIGURE OUT WHAT CASSED A FLY AWAY WITH OTHER MAVIC PRO (SECOND FLIGHT) AND I WAS ABLE TO TRACK IT TO THE EXACT INCIDENT IN THE AIR WHERE THE BRAND NEW MOTOR SAID " MOTOR OBSTRUCTED MOTOR FAILING" i HAD A VIDEO OF ME FLYING IT THAT DAY AS WELL TOO BUT MADE ME SICK TO WATCH IT CLIMB TO 800FT WHILE FLYING AWAY IN RTH MODE BEFORE DROPPING LIKE A ROCK SHORTLY AFTER TO THE FREEWAY MEDIAN BELOW! LUCKILY THATS WHAT DJI AFTERCARE AND PROOF ARE FOR! SO FLY SAFE, PRACTICE SO MUCH YOU ARE PRO THEN PRACTICE A MILLION MORE TIMES. KNOW THE LAWS EVEN IF YOU ARE FLYING SOMETHING THIS SMALL IT CAN BE LETHAL AND EVEN CAUSE MUCH MORE SUBSTANTIAL ISSUES IF OTHERS ARE INVOLVED.HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS TOO

Get this one
A just got my DJI Mini Mavic in yesterday and it came complete. The Mavic Mini is very light however it did well on its first flight with the wind blowing about 15 miles an hour. I took some still shots and video and I am very happy with the way they look. The set up of the drone to the app was very easy. I bought the fly more version because it is a great value for $499. With electronic devices it’s always good to have a few batteries. It also comes with extra propellers, propeller guard, battery charging pack, an extra pair of joysticks, and a nice case.

GREAT Starter Drone!!!
This was my first drone ever, I would have gotten a better one but I'm pretty broke. I did a lot of research and this drone looked perfect for my budget and skill level. I did end up breaking one of it's arms on day 2 because I'm a moron. I got it fixed and have been EXTREMELY careful because yes it is a fragile little drone and deserves much love and care.Pros: Too many to list, drone is near perfect for starting up.Cons: 2.7K (30FPS) instead of 4K (60FPS) but hey, you know what you're buying and vids/pics still look great

Perfect Drone For a Novice
First time drone owner. I wanted to enter the drone world with an intuitive drone but not sacrifice the picture quality and functionality. Mavic Mini was that drone for me. It is important to take the time to learn as much about the Mavic Mini before your initial flight. I have found that most of the knocks on this drone are from people who didn’t research the drone before purchasing. Watching a few informative videos will have you on your way. This drone is very intuitive and high quality. The pictures and videos it produces are of better or at least on par with more expensive drones. I have flown at altitudes of 300’ and distances up to 4500’.Highly recommend for all drone enthusiasts.
