Grip Clips are a clever invention to help prevent Jack socket damage. When you thread your guitar cable through your strap it can still pull on the jack socket when your cable gets trodden on, potentially causing damage to your guitar. The grip clip not only helps as a strain relief, but also helps to throw the cable further away from your feet, reducing the chance of a trip.

No good for guitar to amp, might work for wireless
Maybe I was looking for the wrong thing. I was after a product that holds the cable secure so that there's no pull on the jack. The clip fits the strap OK, the cable fits, but it's really no different to running it through the strap, and if the cable gets snagged, this clip still won't stop it ultimately pulling against the jack.
