Modfamily Mini Plastic Bag Sealer, Reseals Mylar and Cereal Bags for Airtight Seal and Food Sealer (White)

Don't waste your money, this is terrible product. 1) the sealer is so itty bitty you can also do a tiny less than 1/2" seal and if doing most packages, it takes over 5-7 minutes to seal 2) you have to eyeball where the next seal should be placed....any tiny space missed still means air gets out/in 3) Still trying to time it just right otherwise it burns a hole through the package...I have more holes in my packages, tiny itty bitty holes whereas I had one big tear. If you have tons of time and patience or at least you're obsessive compulsive this is for you. Otherwise a clothes pin, a binder or chip clip is way faster and more efficient. If you seriously want to keep food fresh buy one of those big seal a meal sealers. This is a POS. I can't imagine anyone wanting to use this in any capacity cuz of the time it takes to seal. Maybe as a craft thingie when you need to make tiny holes in thin packages. I dunno. POS.

I received this item yesterday and was very excited to try it out. I installed two new AA batteries as instructed. During initial use (for approximately 10 minutes) the item worked as intended to seal plastic bag together. I set it onto 'lock' mode and came back half an hour later to find the entire device burning hot. I took out the batteries (which were very warm) which lead me to believe it was due to a short circuit of some sort. It felt extremely unsafe and hot.I decided to give the device one more try today, since I just bought it. I installed the batteries once more, but found that the device could not even seal properly after holding it in seal position for 2 minutes! (The instructions say that the pre-heating should only take 3 seconds, or a max of 30 seconds). I am extremely disappointed, and hope this review helps those of you thinking to purchase this.

One worked well for about a month before it broke. Had to throw the other one away since it was missing the little sealing/rubber piece on the top. Just not worth sending it back. No wonder they sell it in pkg of 2. Two stars since I got to use one and it worked as advertised...they just never said that it will be short-lived.

works great on chip bags etc. but I bought for mylar bags . Not hot enough or something for them.

I ordered this product because I was tired of cereal and chips going stale before I finished them. I kept one and gave one to my sister. We have both used it multiple times. After a little trial and error, we found it is best to slide it slowly across the bag. When first receiving I suggest using an empty bag you plan on recycling to practice on. As my idea of slow will differ from others. I love the magnet on the base. I keep mine on the fridge right in arms reach. I think these would make great stocking stuffers for friends and college students.

sometimes works but frustrating to use

I like it, works fine, a little tricky at first but practice helps. Not the most professional seal either but for what I use it for its fine, if you want something fancier pay more, for light bag sealing this is good enough

I m actually impressed with this little tool after reading MANY reviews on MANY heat sealers. This one is fast acting and only takes a few mins to get used it... Would buy again.
