I am very impressed the prompt way I got my items. They were quality items but the one surge I had to return because the shape and damage of the refrigerator the age of it to. I would still buy one again under the right circumstances.

Here in my new home in South Florida, I own several of these which I use for my expensive appliances such as my wine cooler, microwave refrigerator and Breville oven. Most electronics handle the surges in voltage okay but it’s the brownouts that kill them. Whether it’s a storm that causes your power to go up and down and you see your lights flicker or when everyone comes home from work at the end of the day and fire up the air conditioners and electric ovens or electric heaters, many times the power company voltage fluctuates and drops from 120 to 100 volts or lower. As you use your appliances and electronics, when the voltage drops, the current or amps increase which just fries your electronics. In the last three years I have lost my toaster oven, microwave, wine cooler and dishwasher main board. So I decided to look into solutions. These little protectors monitor the power and shut it down if it goes out of safe ranges. When the power is restored to proper range they turn the appliance back on. Some are even adjustable. These are super reasonably priced and provide a lot of value and peace of mind for the money. So far so good.

The Refrigmatic MEGA is an essential item for those of us who have a lot of power interruptions. I really like the delay function. Within an hour after installation, we had another of those power glitches where the power goes off momentarily and then comes back on a second or two later. The delay function worked exactly as advertised. However, as noted in another review, this is not a true (UL 1449 certified) surge protection device. I layered a 1449 surge protector behind the Refrigmatic MEGA and now I have complete protection for a reasonable price. Why am I so picky? When one considers that modern refrigerators cost from $2000 to infinity :), and the control boards are essentially single-board computers that can cost as much as an average desktop computer, spending $50-$60 to protect them is a no-brainer. Not to mention the value ($$$ in my case) of the food that might be lost if the fridge is damaged by a power anomaly. Get one now. I also recommend the Tripplite surge protectors as a cost-effective layered power protection solution. I use their Isobar and Isoblock products in line with the Refrigmatic MEGA, but anything from a quality manufacturer with a 1000-joule or higher rating will give you adequate protection. Remember, more joules = better surge protection. Stay away from cheap power strips.

As in my other review from a different product, I get a lot of power outages. This one has been working properly. Replacing a refrigerator is a expensive expense especially if you can avoid it with products like this one. I will update if I run into issues within reasonable time.

During first brief power outage since installing, the surge protector did its job! The surge protector paused power return for a moment and thenmy fridge restarted. I’m very happy I bought good quality product and the right size (large >27 cubic feet fridge). Thank you!

Great device. We live in an area that looses power often. Voltage highs and lows. We use this device and a power strip to protect several devices.

I bought this surge protector and it does what it is supposed to do,you see I installed this model on my vertical freezer and in comes a snow storm and bing,powers out and back,it has a delay so no problems,thanks.
