I'm not exactly sure why other reviewers are having mounting issues with this shelf, but I suspect it has something to do with industrial rack enclosures. Let me explain- Although "19-inch rackmount" is an industry standard, there are two different types of rails. The pro-audio industry uses rails that are pre-drilled and pre-threaded, and all you need to do to mount equipment and accessories is screw them in with the appropriate screws. Industrial racks, on the other hand, require you to install little square cage nuts into the rails before you can screw in your equipment. Industrial racks are often used for servers, telecommunications, lab and factory equipment, etc. That said, I use pro-audio racks, so I have no experience mounting this into an industrial rack (although it does come with the cage nuts as well as the screws). I mounted this shelf up today in multiple pro-audio racks just to write in this review, and I can assure you that it PERFECTLY FITS into rack enclosures by Grundorf, SKB, Gator, and Odyssey. It also PERFECTLY FITS studio furniture made by On-Stage Stands. When I say "perfectly fits," I'm not only talking about the width and height, but also about the mounting holes (which some reviews seem to complain about). I can only assume that people are having issues with the industrial racks, because, as I mentioned, I tried it out in a majority of the big-name pro-audio racks, and it was perfect. If this is indeed the issue, just think- Pyle is an audio company, not an industrial company. If you have pro-audio racks, don't sweat it- this is a solid buy. It's way more solid than the same product from RaXXess. I have this sandwiched between two short rackmount computer enclosures to hold both my CKL dual-monitor KVW switch and a Focusrite Solo interface. The rack is perfect, as it is short enough not to cover the power supply vents of the bottom PC case (and that case is only 16-inches deep). I could have gone without this shelf, but I wanted those components to stay in place whenever I needed to pull the bottom PC. I'll definitely buy this shelf again if I ever need one this short. Great product!

They’re sturdy, well made, well painted, fit perfectly, have ventilation/mounting holes, etc. They do exactly what you expect out of rack shelves.

The Pyle 2-Pc 1U Server Rack Shelf does exactly what it should. It feels solid, installed easily into my rack with no issues, and is currently holding a couple of Shure BLX wireless mic receivers without any problems. There’s not much more to say — it’s well-built, fits standard rack units, and gets the job done.

Bought these several times over the years and work great for holding medium to light equipment in a server rack.

Reasonably sturdy. The tray's vent hole pattern is such I didn't have to drill any holes to mount my items to the tray as the hole to hole spacing was common to my devices... nice! Coincidence? Probably not, but a welcome surprise. One problem, as shown in the first image, is the tray hole pattern isn't quite the same as the product picture with the center holes missing. Other reviews questioning the payload capacity of this product have a point, but the second image shows my current use with three devices... the lightest placed in the middle. It works for things you can reasonably expect to sit on this tray. Image three shows a slight bend in the left rack ear of an otherwise reasonably squared up structure. This isn't a big deal when you tighten things in the rack, but figure it's important to note. However, tightening this in the rack is prevented by its design... read on. Image four highlights a significant issue. The designers have a clear miss on the spacing between the rack rail holes. The standard dictates about 18.31 (18-5/16) inch spacing. As you can see in the image, the hole spacing is 18-1/8 inch... well short of the goal. If the rack post mount slots were wider (as they usually are in other rack mount solutions) this might avoid problems. Alas when you mount one side to a standard rack as shown in image five, the holes on the other side simply don't provide adequate "slop" to get the mounting screws installed. This is a very significant problem for those expecting this product will install easily in any typical 19 inch rack system. I'm going to modify the rack ear holes in my shop to solve the problem. I didn't notice the rack ear mounting problem until I attempted to install my assembly into a hilltop radio rack... a most unwelcome surprise. So much for relying on a decades old rack standard to produce products that mate. I changed my earlier review from 4 to 3 stars. It's a shame really... this product is quite nice except for the significant issue it doesn't comply with an established and well document standard... and standards are what make things from different manufacturers fit together. Fix the rack holes, ship a tray hole pattern that matches your product photo, and this product is five stars.

Exactly as advertised. Very good quality, strong/thick metal plate that can support a lot of weight. Was the perfect size and fit for my cabinet.

Good product

This is a relatively inexpensive ventilated shelf to fit in a 19" Comms cabinet. Comes with all the necessary fixings needed. Slightly odd small screw sizing but the cage nuts, screws and washers etc are all there in the kit so it isn't an issue. Not full depth, around 10" so limits what you can fit on it but it is excellent for what I use it for (small form factor PC and HDMI splitter side by side). Wouldn't advise putting anything too heavy kit on this as it isn't as heavy gauge steel as some but it's perfectly good for 'normal' weight loads. Gone through 10 of these now installed on various customer sites and have been very happy with how they perform and look.
