Delivered what is promised and a great Region Free DVD/Blu-ray Player that's worth buying!
I bought this one after my old DVD/Blu-ray player got itself right on the fritz and plus, ever since I got myself some DVD's and Blu-rays from other countries such as the United Kingdom and Australia beforehand. It successfully arrived in my hands a couple days after I ordered it and got to take it out and plugged it into my TV and it works great. Runs smoothly, the picture quality is fantastic, the remote control works fantastic and very easy to use entirely. But given for the fact that it wants to showcase itself as a Region Free DVD/Blu-ray Player, I wanted to try it out and test it by popping in one of my DVD copies of Pokémon Chronicles and my Blu-ray copy of Mary Poppins, both of which were imports from the United Kingdom and boy, it delivered what it promised. It works great and runs my DVD's and Blu-rays without any issue whatsoever. I'm very happy with what I got and it's most certainly a fantastic DVD/Blu-ray player that is worth buying hands down.

A MULTI REGION BLU RAY/ DVD PLAYER FOR ALL FOREIGN RELEASES OF FILMS
I STARTED BUYING MY FAVORITE FILMS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES ON DVD. THEN I HEARD ABOUT FILMS BEING RELEASED ON BLU RAY IN OTHER COUNTRIES. I FOUND OUT THAT YOU NEED A SPECIAL ALL REGION BLU RAY PLAYER BUT I COULDN'T FIND ONE. WHEN I SAW THIS LG MODEL ON AMAZON AND I READ ALL THE GREAT REVIEWS, I HAD TO GET ONE. SO FAR I'VE WATCHED SEVERAL DVDS AND I RECENTLY GOT A REGION B BLU RAY AND IT PLAYS BEAUTIFULLY. IT WAS EASY TO HOOK UP AND TO LEARN HOW TO USE IT. IT ALSO DIDN'T COST TOO MUCH. A GREAT BUY!

Great region free player
Being a lover of British television I really wanted a region player so I could pick up DVD and Blu-ray sets from the UK of my favorite shows that aren't available in the US. (Last of the summer wine the complete series for example) This player works great for that task. I've watched hours of both regions B/2 Blu-ray/DVD disc and they all play great. The remote is nothing special, but it works perfectly fine. Picture is great, and setup was easy. The one thing I didn't try or care about is the streaming feature as my TV does it already. Overall I highly recommend if you're looking for a region free player.

Good product - no wireless internet if it matters to you though
We already have one of these LGs in the bedroom. Our "more expensive" Sony DVD player wigged out last week. This one was about $150 out the door, played Blu-Ray and up-converts regular DVDs. Not a whole lot of bells and whistles, no streaming apps, no wireless internet connectivity. But who cares? Just more stuff that I'll not use.Essentially, we needed a good player to play both Blu-Ray and regular DVDs. We already stream content through our Firestick. We can already stream content through apps on the TV. Having apps on the DVD player would have been over-kill.We don't care that the only internet connectivity is via Ethernet cable connection. As long as this player mechanically works, we really don't need to worry about software updates which are probably only needed for apps used for streaming. Again, we don't need them.Bottom line is a simple to use, simply designed DVD player that does the job. It's small, lightweight and exactly what we required. Unless it dies a premature death at which time I will update my review, it's operating out of the box perfectly and we're very satisfied with it.

Be careful who you buy from
2nd update: I to the new one from 220-electronics, and it not only contained clear instructions but worked perfectly the first time. It seems that this unit is not normally region free, but 220-electronics does some sort of mod to make it so. When I got the one from merchforu, though it was ordered from this same page and so was listed as region-free, it did not have the modification. So I would say it's worth buying, and I have upgraded my rating, but beware that your results depend entirely on buying from the more reputable vendor.___________Update: I'm now feeling a little bad about putting this review on this page, because the current seller listed is not the same seller I bought mine from, and the seller seems to make all the difference. Currently it's listed as being sold by 220-electronics, which has great reviews and who were very helpful when I first called them, before we realized I'd actually bought from someone else and they couldn't help me. When I bought this it was being sold by merchforu. I returned the merchforu version, and then turned around and ordered the same unit from 220-electronics. It should arrive shortly, and I will update my review to reflect the one they send me._________The entire reason I bought this was because it was advertised as region-free. First of all, it did not include the page of region-free instructions advertised (nor the hdmi cable for that matter, but I had another one). Undaunted, I followed every instruction I could find online, first, and then called the number on the side of the box. Nothing the customer service rep suggested worked either, so they finally consulted with a supervisor... who said that the region can not be changed. I'll go ahead and return it, I guess, and look for another one, but I'm utterly frustrated and have wasted way too much time.

WARNING!! Stopped Working in Less Than 5 Months!!!!
BUYER BEWARE!! At first I was thrilled with this Region-free Blu Ray/DVD player. It was compact, easy to setup, easy to use, had a great picture, and played everything I tried in it. But, LESS THAN 5 MONTHS later, IT STOPPED WORKING. I don't know if it's a faulty HDMI port or a bad video card, but this player is no longer displaying ANY picture when it's powered on. There is sound, it has power, but there is no image on screen. I have tried multiple HDMI cables, including cables off of other pieces of equipment that I use daily which I know for a fact work, but there is NO IMAGE being sent from the Player to any monitor/TV. This player ONLY has 1 HDMI port and no A/V option, so if the HDMI quits working, like on mine, you're out of luck. $140+ down the drain. While it was working, I'd give this player a 4/5, but because it died so fast it gets 1/5.
