I was a little weary about getting this after reading the bad reviews. I thought to try it myself. The worse thing I thought would be that I have to send it back. The product is exactly meant to do what was described to do.Its not strong enough to pull your entire weight around, but it is strong enough to hold and keep your balance in the shower. We have it in our master room shower . We grab it when we are trying to maintain our balance on one leg! The suction cups are still holding after 2 weeks and have not been coming off as I had read on one of the reviews.I am going to give it 5 star all around.Easy installation, good quality for price, and exactly what is meant to do.

I read several reviews of this handle not sticking well. Falling off after a certain period of time. I've had ZERO issues. I have no idea what these people are doing. My tub is a solid sheet of hard plastic. An apartment shower. I don't have tile. I made sure to clean the surface of my shower wall really well and dry it completely. The suction cups on the handle are really sticky so that was a plus. I pressed firmly and attached the handle to the wall. clamped it down and the markers flipped red to green. We did test it and put some weight on it and it didn't budge.This handle is NOT to pull yourself up with. You wouldn't be on the tub floor if you need assistance. You need to have a shower chair if you need to sit. Don't install this over the grout part of tiles. This is common sense. Clean the area very good and dry it where you want to adhere the suction cups. Thats all thats needed.This handle has provided us with a bit more security getting out of our little apartment shower as the tub wall is stupid high and I'm always afraid I'm gonna slip. Pair this with a good tub mat and you are solid!

WARNING WARNING!!!!!!!defective and does not hold to lift a person..Horrible Customer service...Will never use this merchant for anything again...Noting but a rip off and hassle...Would not let me return the defective product or refund the cost...

I just had back surgery. so, for me to start taking a shower. I bought these in a pinch. they're actually great. way bigger than I thought. but that's a good thing. easy to attach to the glass shower doors. they won't work on porous tile. but there were a few times, at the start. they would slip. so, they weren't 100% stable. but, after leaving them on for a few days. and if you don't apply a lot of pressure or weight. they definitely come in handy and help. but I can't imagine someone using a lot of weight and needing these for 100% help to get in and out of the shower.

I try to return the one I bought because one of the suction cup doesn't hold on as tight as the other one but Amazon simply sent me a second one and instructed me to keep the first one. This time it works very well. The trick is use a clean and flat surface, damp it a little, push so the suction cup takes hold before locking it. It works very well. Takes up less space than the 16" I have. As with all suction grab bars, I wouldn't bet my life on it. I only use it for assist and I check it before every shower - it lose suction when the contact surface gets dry. Who knows, one of these day, the tile might get pulled out!

Bought one for my mother a few months ago and she said it helped her hold onto something as she stepped out of the shower. It was working fine and never came off. I then bought 2 more for her other shower. Yesterday as she was stepping out of the other shower, she lost her balance and the handle she was holding on to came off of the shower wall. She went down and said it came off the wall. It still had green lock on meaning the suction was good. The wall was wet so the only thing I can figure is that she was putting more weight on than she should have and between her weight (130 lbs) and the wetness, it lost suction. My return date ran out 4 days ago, so now I am ordering metal wall bars and trying those. The reason I didn’t before is the wall is further away and she’ll have to stretch to reach it. Don’t trust it if the person has any balance issues, it’s not meant to hold weight and it won’t stop a fall as it’s stated.

First I used it on tile and that worked great. Then moved it to my apartment, and it stuck very well to my fiberglass (I guess? Solid built in, could be plastic) shower. I ordered another and couldn't get it to go green initially - then I realized the shower wall had a slight curve there. Moved it over a half inch and it worked and hasn't come loose or fallen off. I still test it before each use because the nature of suction cups is that eventually they will loosen. As others have stated, you wouldn't want to put too much weight on it. In my case, I think if the suction didn't fail, it could actually damage the thin fiberglass surface - when you pull on it, the surface flexes because it's not fully adhered to the underlying wall. But in my normal use, most of the force is downward so it doesn't feel too wobbly to use.

This is the 2nd time I bought this product having liked it so much the first time. Now I have for each bath / shower in my 2 Bathrooms. It works as intended, holds in place. Not intended to lift you up from a sitting position but it's perfect if you slip or don't want to slip by holding on to it. You can move to a different location in the shower or bath tile area as needed. Very pleased wit this purchase and much cheaper than having a permanent safety bar added since you need to hire someone with a special drill bit to install so it won't crack or break you tile.
