Q: Does this convert SCSI to IDE? I need to access some old SCSI drives and am wondering if this would work.

No it's from 68 pin scsi to 50 pin scsi. IDE is 40 pin I believe.

No, this is to convert the 68pin SCSI to 50pin SCSI.

No this adapter is only to convert one SCSI connector to another SCSI connector, very much like converting USB-A connections to USB-C connections. Both connections are electrically compatible but use different plugs. To connect an IDE hard drive to USB you need to search for an IDE to USB adapter. Small and polished

Originally I bought an adapter from an Amazon seller in China, but it was put together really badly, so I got this. You do need a little more space behind your drive to fit this in your computer, but it's much better put together and looks a lot nicer and cleaner.

These scsi adapters worked, though my drive didn’t. Not the adapters fault, just a bad drive.I can recommend them as they are inexpensive and work as described.

Works great.

I looked around for this all over the place. Amazon delivered it within a couple of days and it works like a champ. A simple fix but invaluable when you need to get at data on an old drive.
