Good Drive, but... Read if you plan on buying a Drive bigger than 2TB
This is a good 3TB Hard Drive, but my only issue with it isn't specific to this hard drive, it's just how Windows Vista/7 and 8 handles drives bigger than 2TB. (XP doesn't support volumes bigger than 2TB at all) For years, Windows had used something called "MBR" which was limited to 2TB Volume sizes and now they have an Alternative called "GPT" and you can format a drive to boot using GPT, but the problem is you need a Computer that has UEFI in order to boot from it and without UEFI, you can't boot from partition bigger than 2TB, but I can have it be a secondary storage drive as one 3TB Volume holding Videos or Steam Backups or you can just use 2TB for windows and either have the other 1TB unallocated or use that other 1TB for Linux or something. (which is what I did, 2TB for Windows, 1TB for Linux)

Good Quality NOS (New condition Old Stock)
These drives are no longer manufactured, but required for older WD systems like Live Book Duo and such. Worked 100% replacing a failed drive in my RAID1 Duo.

Dead in The Box
I bought a WD Green 3TB for future use and left it in it's retail packaging. When I finally needed to use it I found it was dead. I've tried several different Pieces of HDD test and repair software and nothing has been successful. I should have tested in when I first received it and then returned it as DOA. I have a few of these is 2TB and 3TB as redundant internal storage and all have been performing well for years. I guess a bad HDD can slip out from any manufacturer. From now on when I receive a HDD I plan on testing it immediately and if not needed at the time I'll repackage until I do. By the time I discovered the drive was dead both the return window and warranty had expired. I learned my lesson.

Buy something that is not as Green
This HD is the one that comes inside the WD My Book Live...it finally failed just like i read it in the forums before buying it.Oh well, I used a linux reader program from windows and salvaged the files on the partitions. Reformated it and tried to store data on it. After the first 500GB it started showing slowing down, down to 2MB/sec.Now i reformated it again with 2 partitions to see if it made a difference and the second partition is showing problems.I say ditch it and get something that is not as Green.

ottimo
Disco molto capiente.

Ottimi come sempre
