4pack Pilot Drill Bits for Metal Hole Cutters

Excellent quality but not appropriate for thin material
High quality bit but not useful for making washers or cutting shim steel/alluminum. Will just twist material apart even when held in a vice. Would reccomend using only in a drill press at higher speeds and thicker materials which are well secured. Cuts will be sloppy under any other conditions but the bit is extremely durable.

Cuts well
Cuts well through the different metals I work with. The only issue is it can sometime cut a bit sloppy on the edge.

These are amazing
I used the 3/4” and the 1” shown on photos to accommodate new trailer wiring, 15 holes made using a 9/32” pilot hole. Through 1/8” steel and cooling oil. Going slow as others had recommended and it went very well. The bit still looks good enough to do another 15 easy. Install grommets in the hole.

Quality Product
I Used it to cut a hole in an outdoor light fixture to mount a "Dusk to Dawn photocell" cut it perfectly and fast. Just mounted it on my DeWalt drill and boom i'm done. Well worth the money they even gave an xtra pilot hole drill bit.

Great Cutter
As stated by other reviewers, the pilot bit is a bit brittle and I broke mine as well. To prevent breaking the second one, I began drilling pilot holes and no issues. Extra work I know but with the number of holes, it was worth it to ensure it was available till the end of the job.

Not for Heavy Duty Cutting
This product may be fine when using a drill press. I needed to cut one hole in 22ga copper. I have only a power drill. Using cutting oil, this bit took the better part of a half hour to grind it's way through this relatively thin copper (copper!). On the plus side, the resulting hole was perfectly clean and the proper size. I have no clue how many more holes this bit has in it. I can't imagine it working well on stainless or any kind of alloy, so make sure that your job is within the limitations of this bit.

Works better than expected but has its limitations
The fact that I've managed to punch 6 holes through 1/2" steel is impressive. The drawback that I'm seeing is the limited depth of the bit (<1/2") which requires finishing the hole from the back side. The pilot bit is also sub-par, but if you pre-drill with a good bit, the hole saw will do it's job well.

Worked great
Worked great. Purchased 2 of these 9/16" and 22mm for one project. Drill 6 22mm holes and 12 9/16" holes in an 8" I beam. I pre-drilled the pilot holes took it easy, used lots of cutting fluid. Drilled using a hand held cordless drill.

Didn't work on plastic
Tried it on some thick acrylic plastic but it gummed up the bit on the first try. Perhaps it works well in metal, but it's not for plastics.

Impressive drill bit
I cut two holes in 3/8" steel plate with this bit using a 1/2" portable drill. Took my time and cut from both sides and the drill bit performed incredibly well. Fantastic bit - I am sure it will cut many more holes for me.
