Interesting, flavorful change of pace
An interesting barley based energy drink. I don’t know if another example like it. A refreshing change of pace from soda or other caffeine based energy shots. Mild, unique, crisp. It switches things up a little.

Tastes like a tomato drink with cherry added
BRWD Refreshing Energy Drinks - Recovery Energy for Athletes, Plant-based, Vegan, Non-GMO, Clean-label - 12 Ounce (Pack of 12) (Cherry + Rhubarb)I had ordered Citrus + Ginger but received Cherry and Rhubarb, so that is what I reviewed.Personally...not a big fan. I don't know if the citrus tastes better, but the cherry rhubarb tastes gross. Reminded me of a tomato juice drink with cherry added - ew. I ended up just trying one can and giving the rest away. It also gave me some issues with heartburn.Otherwise, packaging is nice, caffeine content is average at 70 mg (around twice the amount in a can of coke, but less than other mainstream expensive energy drinks). Price is reasonable. If you're looking for something a little different, or like tomato, you might like this. Personally, this was a pass for me.

Interesting Flavor, Moderate Caffeine that Wakes You Up but Doesn’t make you Wired
The BRWD Refreshing Energy Drink in Cherry Rhubarb flavor is an interesting caffeinated drink that kinda reminds me of a nonalcoholic cherry beer. The lightly carbonated drink is refreshing and has a mildly sweet cherry flavor. It has a slightly fermented taste, similar to a pale beer, and has enough caffeine to wake me up but not make me wired. I drank it a few times in the late afternoon and was pleased that I could go to sleep without any issues. As far as energy drinks go, this is one that I would drink again, although it won’t replace iced coffee or teas for me. If you’re looking for a lightly sweetened fruity energy drink, it’s worth trying out.

Energy Yes, Flavor Not For Me
This is one strange energy drink. I get it, somewhat "healthy" natural alternative to energy drinks - still on my quest for that one. I'd rank this as "alright". The cherry + rhubarb mixed with Barely is a non starter, straight up tastes awful. MY personal opinion though, and I'd openly give the citrus + ginger a chance, as that seems like it pairs (*cough* masks* ) barely better than the cherry rhubarb combo. Are these tolerable?Yes.Do they give you a ton of energy?Yes.Are they natural / non-gmo etc?Yes.I mean it's mostly good, but flavor is bad. Unfortunately that's where I'm going to have to leave it here.

Lemony taste but quite sugary
This is an interesting barley malt drink. The taste is lemony and quite refreshing. No weird aftertaste. It has lots of sugar though, 20 grams per can. At least it's cane sugar instead of corn syrup. It has 70 grams of caffeine from green coffee beans, far less than that in many energy drinks, to help boost energy. It does a decent job of helping me stay focused without the mental fog.Overall, I quite like this energy drink. It tastes good but a little too sugary for me. The price is pretty reasonable though. I would say give it a try if you're looking for an energy drink without too much caffeine but don't mind the sugary content.

That flavor is...
As you crack open the can, the combo of flavors in the bottle gives off an armpit like aroma, yes you read that right. It slowly transitions to something that is acidic, like tomatoes. After this whirlwind of mind magic, the first sip is one that is more pleasant as you’ve decided to proceed. Each drink gets you a little more toward the middle of the road.Overall, it ends at ok and considering where this started, that’s a win. Outside of that my only complaint would be it has a good number of calories. I would prefer an option that also is very low calorie or sugar free.
