Love it!
I usually have Lenovo laptops etc but the last one was very disappointing and this seemed to be a good machine for the price. It was quick and easy to set up, the link to my Samsung phone works seamlessly and so nice to not to have to pfaff around with cables. It responds quickly, even allowing for the fact it's new, and doesn't seem full of bloatware. The keyboard suits me fine as does the touchpad. I've not used the camera and I like the fact it is tucked away but can understand how it might be a problem in use. Fingerprint security is working fine. The screen display is nice and clear and more than bright enough. The sound quality is more than good enough for what I use it for: audiobooks, listening to a local Silverband, videos of the sea. Saving to D drive isn't an issue. The build quality seems good - better than my last Lenovo. The fan is very quiet and doesn't often cut in. Battery charging is quick and a charged battery is lasting about 8-9hours, depending on how much work the laptop is doing. All in all, I think this is an excellent laptop

Very Fast!
Only had for 24 hours so this a first impression only.Sleek and thin and seems well built. Camera I love..as I don't use it, it is hidden away with no sticky tape over it, but does work well although it shows off double chin! Set up very easy, all settings including downloading firefox and bitdefender really quick and easy. The speed compared to my previous acer (less than a year old) is very, very impressive. I guess the solid state hard drive makes all the difference, but we will see what happens when microsoft get busy with their constant downloads. Every heard of a company whos initial product is so bad that they need to change it 3 times per week? Nuff said. Back to the computer..screen is different to what I am used to, for example hotmail areas you are not working on are dimmed....I like it. Battery life on the 1st charge was poor, but on the second charge improved dramatically and I expect even more on subsequent charges as all these wee pixies get woken up and excited! Did I tell you about the speed of booting up....awesome! Finger print reader is good, I have had a stroke and used a finger on my stroke hand...no problem, sometimes I have to try again but have never been asked for a pin. Bought a cordless wireless mousie thing to go with it, worked right away..no setting up required. So overall that is my opinion, not being very technical and definately not computer minded, I would say that I am very happy with purchase and speed of this machine!

Not Perfect But Rather Close
This is my first Huawei laptop (or "MateBook") and I purchased it because the design and style appealed to me as well as the generally good reviews. Overall I am pretty happy with what I have received and so far discovered. Its not perfect (and no laptop is) but for the price you can let a few things slide. For your reference (and to save you having to read another looooong review), I have summarized the good and the bad below.~THE GOOD~High build quality for the priceAttractive designBuilt-In fingerprint readerGood hardware (processor with integrated graphics, high quality SSD)Physically small charger that won't cost a fortune to replaceHigh screen quality and brightness.Above average battery lifeValue for money~THE BAD~Smaller keyboard than normalNo nub-pad on keyboardLarge touchpad (very easy to accidently "click" while typing)Stupid placement for the webcam (and an unflattering angle)Hard drive partitioned strangelyScreen does not go back as far as I would have liked. For the current market price - I would recommend this. It is better than the standard £500ish laptops that are flooding the market and can hold its own on somewhat more expensive models. If you want a good laptop that can handle most tasks then this Huawei is worth considering (I believe you would have to spend a lot more to get better). Just hope I get used to the small keyboard :(

Excellent Day to Day or Working Laptop
Works like a charm, been using it to work at home during lockdown for Coronavirus and it's handled nine hours of constant use with HDMI upscaling to two screens without a problem. It's quick opening and navigating Windows, conference calling on Microsoft Teams is no problem and it handles Citrix remote connectivity comfortably. Not found any issues multi tasking and the fan is very quiet when it kicks in, the keyboard and track pad are reassuringly responsive and screen colouration is fine with different filters and resolutions available in settings. Only minor point of criticism is no backlight to the keyboard but easily remedied with a usb light as there's three usb ports.I've seen mention in other reviews that the screen is washed out but I really can't say I'm finding that, perhaps if you're into gaming or streaming movies it might be but for day to day use this is a fine piece of kit at a mid range price. If you want loads of on board storage you're only getting 256GB (35GB used by system) here unless you add an external HDD and maybe DVDR. I've got a 1TB HDD connected and it reads and saves to this very quickly, I haven't tried running anything from the external HDD but with 8GB of RAM it really should cope with anything.I get about five hours out of the battery on a full charge and that's in constant use in double screen with WiFi, it charges to full from 20% in just under an hour but the trickle charge at the end at around 98% can a bit annoying if like me you like to see 100% on the battery meter before you unplug it.Finger print sensor is accurate and being an SSD the boot and shutdown times are seconds not minutes. All in all a great piece of kit for both working and day to day stuff, bags of internal power to cope with most things although I can't really comment on gaming or streaming, I use an Nvidia Shield for that kind of malarkey.
