I have tried the Dremel brand wire wheels and the less expensive kind like these. They all lose their metal bristles. After so many of those bristles in my clothing and socks (ouch!), I read that applying Super Glue around the base on both sides help retain the bristles and that works! If you use Dremel on slow to medium speed, most of the bridges stay intact when using the glue. I appreciate these since they are at a low price point and work well.

I picked these up to do detailing clean up on rusty parts. They do seem to last a bit longer than some of the other cheap ones I've bought, but they also don't dig in quite as much. They will work well for cleaning light surface rust, loose paint chips and things like that, but they don't do a great job of getting into pitted rust or harder materials. I used a heavy wire brush attachment to clean a rusty mower deck but it was too big to fit into some corners or seams, so I typically use these types or wire wheels in my Dremel to get into those small spaces for more detailed cleaning. These aren't so good for that; they will clean it but you have to sit there for quite a while to do so. This could take a while if your project is not tiny! I can't fault them for this as they are decent quality, but you should be aware of their capabilities so you don't try to do more than they can handle.If you buy them knowing what they can and can't do, they are good quality for the money and will serve you well.

While it may seem obvious, it is essential you wear a full face shield when using this product. While this product allowed me to remove rust in an efficient manner the individual wires seemed to fly off at a high rate and I found many individual strands in my clothes and my arms

As others have said, apply some super glue around the base where the wires are attached and allow to dry. Then run the Dremel or other driver at medium speed and medium pressure. This will slow the breakdown of the brush.

This is a great deal got 50 of these for about twice what I paid for three of them at the hardware store. I hooked one up and started using it and I’m still using it. The steel brushes do not seem to fly off it very easy.

First of all, these wheels are just plain dangerous. I only used a few and do not plan on using any others.They begin to self-destruct almost immediately . The tiny wire bristles fly all over the place. I started off wearing safety goggles, but quickly added a dust mask. I would recommend wearing a full face shield AND mask if you still choose to purchase and use this product. Also, because the bristles are like tiny darts up close, leather gloves were next. Even though a long sleeve shirt would also shield your arm from this bombardment, the bristles also work their way into and through cloth as well. So you will itch a lot. I am still hesitant to put the clothing I had on in the washer (especially with other clothing) because I can't be sure if the metal wire will even come out or possibly transfer.For your safety don't buy this or any other similar cut rate items.Photo Notes: The item at far right in photo #1 and at bottom in photo #2 is an unused wire wheel.
