Check to see where it's being shipped from, check the seller's feedback and other information, and if all else fails...send the seller a message asking if they might be able to send you photos of their item (front and back).

Would these Assassin's creed neca figures make a good gift for younger fans?

These figures were given to my grandsons ages 9 and 8 with their parents permission. If a child were younger, I think some of the removable parts might be a choking hazzard and I would hold off till older - even if they whine and cry. I know small children put things in their mouth with great regularity.

How does it compare in size to the Conner and Edward Kenway figures? Does it look out of place when standing next to them?

I currently do not have the Connor or Edward figures. However, the Altair is comparable and in scale to the various Ezio figures. So, if the Connor and Edward lines are from the same company, and I'm sure they are, then they will be uniform in size.

where can I purchase a working stand for it? and what size/type should I get?

You may not need a stand. The figure's legs and ankles are pretty rigid - and will remain that way in less you intend to play with it. I have mine free-standing on a bookshelf. We had a minor earthquake a few weeks back, and it remained upright. To answer your question directly, I don't really know. My apologies.
